In the Stars February 5-12, 2023 ...Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week: Full Moon
A Full Moon lights the sky on Sunday, February 5th. The Sun and Moon square Uranus, the planet symbolizing freedom and rebellion, This lunation calls us to remember our unique qualities and honor them. This could be remembering something from your past that you have learned and expressing it, or learning something new that you have wanted to experience or develop.
All planets are now in direct motion for three months until April 21. Plans and projects can now move forward swiftly with greater ease.
Mars continues Out of Bounds (OOB) until May 4th. Planets are OOB when their declination is more than 23 degrees, 27 minutes. When planets are out of bounds their energy is exaggerated, unique, and extraordinary. The planet expresses itself unbounded, or without limits. People may be much more courageous and outspoken than usual. Because Mars is explosive and impulsive, volatile energy may be unleashed. This may also account for the ongoing streak of gun violence and the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war.

The Moon is Full on Sunday, with both luminaries squaring Uranus, the planet of rebellion and sudden change. The Aquarius Sun symbolizes freedom and independence and Uranus square to the Sun and Moon magnifies these qualities. This luminous day could be one for breaking free of restrictions and spreading one's wings.
An early Monday morning Moon-Saturn conjunction lets us know it is time to get to work. Yet, this is the beginning of the Moon’s void of course period, so stick to insignificant, routine tasks in the morning. At 1:13 p.m. PST the Moon moves into Virgo, and signals the monthly time for cleaning up and creating order. This lasts through Wednesday, so make the most of it. A testy Mercury-Eris square may make us irritable and sharp with words, so be slow to speak and take time to consider what you say.
We aim to make order out of chaos on Tuesday. We are still on edge due to a Moon-Mars square, and need to continue to exercise care about our spoken words. A Venus-Uranus sextile offers diversion which may be more exciting than the work at hand. This second day of the work week could be an unusual, busy day.
Although we may be distracted, especially mid-day, Wednesday is productive and much can be accomplished. Our minds are sharp and able to focus and organize our tasks efficiently, thanks to the Moon’s trine to Mercury.
Thursday is an active, social day, painted with the harmonious colors of the Libra Moon. Relationships are supported by a Moon-Ceres conjunction. There is some discontent resulting from a Moon-Mars aspect, but it may be overshadowed and brightened by a Moon-Jupiter opposition.
Friday’s Mercury-Pluto conjunction gives determination and focus. Venus' day is highlighted by the beauty of the Libra Moon that is ruled by the planet of love and beauty. A Sun-Moon trine in air signs Aquarius and Libra encourages friendly interactions and social gatherings, though there is an sharp, irritated energy present as well due to the Moon’s opposition to Eris.
Saturday is a day of heavy planetary activity. Mercury moves into Aquarius for the next 19 days until March 5th, where it is inventive and open to new ideas. However, Aquarius is a fixed sign and can be stubborn about its points of view. The Libra Moon trines Saturn, grounding the day and drawing our attention to work that needs to be done. We are challenged by the Moon’s pushy square to Pluto, and feel the demands of the day.
On Sunday, the Scorpio Moon draws us into deep feelings and the privacy or our thoughts. The Moon opposes Uranus, stirring desires to break free of anything oppressive. The day may hold a few surprises.
We are called to go deep into work projects on Monday. Mid-day the Moon squares Saturn, and later the Moon makes a benefic sextile to Pluto, both aspects encouraging attention on work. We can lighten up in the evening when the Moon moves into Sagittarius at 5:30 p.m. PST. It’s an inviting evening for a social gathering.
The Week in Short:
Sunday: Full Moon energies for independence, freedom, and change.
Monday: Moon VoC 6:15 a.m.-1:13 p.m. Focus on routine tasks in the morning and efficiently handle your “to do” list in the afternoon. Watch your tongue and tendency for sharp words.

Wednesday: Efficient, productive work day for much to be accomplished.
Thursday: Active, social day that supports relationships.
Friday: Determination and focus color the day for friendly gatherings and conversation.
Saturday: Energetic, demanding day. We feel the challenge to get things accomplished, though we would prefer to take it easy.
Sunday: Feelings run deep and independence and rebellion are stirred.
Monday: Lean into work with vigor, and enjoy a light, expansive social evening.
Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
