In the Stars March 5-12, 2023 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week: Full Moon

The Sun continues to shine in Pisces, drawing us to symbolic themes of inspiration, imagination, vision, compassion, and service. Let your creative juices flow!

The big news this week is Saturn’s ingress into Pisces on Tuesday where it will be until June 2025. Saturn, the planet of structure, discipline, and limitation will be in the sign of Pisces which symbolizes flow, merging, and creativity. Thus, Saturn will be in the sign symbolizing some of its opposite, or different qualities. Some of the best of this combination could be exercising commitment and discipline to spiritual practices and manifesting artistic ideas and creations. Perhaps there will be new discoveries of medicines for healing, and perhaps some healing psychedelic drugs will be legalized.

The Full Moon in Virgo perfects on Tuesday. This day has the potential to transform practical matters into creative, expansive, new ways of thinking and doing.\

Venus and Jupiter are conjunct in Aries. Love for adventure is amplified.

Mars continues Out of Bounds (OOB) until May 4th. Planets are OOB when their declination is more than 23 degrees, 27 minutes. When planets are out of bounds their energy is wild, unique, and extraordinary. The planet expresses itself unbounded, or without limits. People may be much more courageous and outspoken than usual. Because Mars is explosive and impulsive, volatile energy may be unleashed.

Sunday is another fun weekend day to enjoy, lit up by the Leo Moon. By Sunday evening the Moon opposes Saturn, drawing us toward our responsibilities. Then the Moon moves into Virgo at 7:18 p.m. PST, urging us to make our “to do” list and plan the work week ahead.

Monday and Tuesday are the clean-up days of the month, heralded by the light of the Virgo Moon. The Sun makes a benefic sextile to Uranus on Monday, making it a day to do things differently. Let your intuition be your guide.

Tuesday is a BIG day with a Full Moon in Virgo. And Saturn ingresses into Pisces for the next 2 1/2 years! This signals an opportunity over the next two years to strengthen spiritual foundations. The Moon makes testy, irritating aspects to Mars and Neptune, but could also amplify vision and energize us for a vigorous cleansing. The Full Moon calls us to balance the practical with the spiritual. The Moon trines Uranus, sweeping us forward with fresh ideas. The Sun hangs between Neptune and Mercury. Mercury offers some trickster/devil’s advocate energy, while Neptune uplifts with vision and imagination. This day has the potential to transform practical matters into creative, expansive new ways of thinking and doing.

Early Wednesday morning’s Moon-Pluto trine sets the tone for accomplishment. Shortly after the Moon aspects Pluto it enters Libra, and beckons us toward social interactions. We’re drawn to take time out for lunch with a friend. Otherwise, the day is quiet on the planetary front.

The Libra Moon steers us to our center on Thursday, in spite of numerous minor aspects that may feel challenging or discouraging. The Libra Moon always draws us toward grace, art, and beauty. Aim to bring these qualities into your day and express them.

Friday may be stormy due to the Moon’s edgy aspects to Eris and Pluto. The day rumbles with unsettling energy. Action steps are the antidote. The Moon moves into Scorpio late afternoon Pacific time which may make us want to withdraw from the world and have a deep, quiet evening.

We are graced by agreeable sextiles on Saturday between Mercury and Uranus, Venus and Mars, and Mars and Moon. Brilliant ideas pour forth. The day may go differently than planned due to a Moon-Uranus opposition. A Jupiter-Chiron opposition may bring up old wounds and fears. Thankfully, the night ends with the possibility of reasonable conversation and consideration.

On Sunday the Pisces Sun conjuncts Neptune and trines the Scorpio Moon, easing relations. The evening’s Moon-Pluto sextile holds space for intimacy, honesty, and reconciliation. Strong, passionate, inspired feelings are stirred.

After the emotionally intense weekend, we are relieved to start the work week with the optimistic Sagittarius Moon. The day is light. Take a hike or bike ride, as Sagittarius loves the thighs for vigorous exercise. This is a good day to make travels plans.

The Week in Short:

Sunday: Enjoy a fun day of play. In the evening, plan the week ahead.

Monday: Get your life in order. Do things differently, and let intuition be your guide.

Tuesday: Saturn moves into Pisces. Full Moon in Virgo. Practical matters merge with imagination, creativity, and new ideas.

Wednesday: The day is set for accomplishment . . . and a nice lunch with a friend.

Thursday: Balance your day with grace, beauty, art, and relationship.

Friday: The day is unsettled with rumbling energy. Withdraw in the evening into your own depth of experience and solitude.

Saturday: Brilliant ideas pour forth. Old wounds can be addressed. The day ends with reasonable conversation.

Sunday: Tensions ease, inviting intimacy, honesty, and reconciliation.

Monday: Optimistic, buoyant day. Make travel plans.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for theext month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
