In the Stars November 29-December 6, 2020...shining light on the astrology of the week

The Sun in Sagittarius shines its festive, buoyant light on the holiday season. We are ready to bring it on! People are getting their Christmas trees and getting their Christmas lights up earlier than ever, wanting to brighten the difficult year that comes to a close with the holiday season ahead. Eclipse season is upon us, with a Lunar Eclipse occurring Monday, November 30th at 8:38 degrees of Gemini-Sagittarius, and a Solar Eclipse on December 14th at 23:08 degrees of Sagittarius. December 14th is the day of the Electoral College vote. Eclipse days, and the two weeks in-between are super-charged with energy, so go mindfully and keep things simple. Jupiter and Saturn are making their way through the last degrees of Capricorn as they move toward their conjunction at 0 degrees Aquarius on December 21st, the Winter Solstice.

Sunday marks the beginning of Advent, and the holy season of the Christian year. The day is colored with a desire for conversation. This is a good day for catching up on email, and for reading an engaging, inspiring book and learning something new.

November ends with a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 8:38 Gemini-Sagittarius. Writing, reading, and learning are highlighted, and curiosity is heightened. Eclipses intensify energy, so go easy on this day.

December begins on Tuesday with a void of course Moon all day until 7:33 p.m. PST when the Moon moves into Cancer. This is not a good day for meetings and decision making, but rather one for tending to routine tasks, raking leaves, and decorating for the Christmas holidays. Tuesday is a quiet day in the cosmos. Mercury ingresses into Sagittarius where it is not as its best, sometimes talking too much or being too blunt. While Mercury is in Sagittarius for the next three weeks, be mindful of these lesser qualities when you speak.

Wednesday is a day for comfort, tradition, and family. There may be a surprising twist to the day given a Moon-Uranus sextile. A Moon-Venus trine in the evening gives sweetness as we relax after a day’s work.

Thursday could be a tough day emotionally, as the Moon makes challenging aspects to testy Mars and demanding Pluto. A benefic Moon-Neptune trine helps soften the harsh energy. Be active, lean in, and meet your emotional needs as best you can. And don’t take anything personally!

Friday presents a joyful, enthusiastic day. Healing energy flows from a benefic Grand Trine with the Moon, Mercury, and Chiron. Friday evening could hold a surprising twist as the Moon squares Uranus.

Mixed energies color Saturday bright, enthusiastic, and compassionate, as well as demanding, steamy, and emotionally needy. However, the uplifting Leo Moon carries the day, and we are blessed by the benevolence and beauty of the Venus-Neptune trine.

It’s time to tidy up on Sunday in the light of the Virgo Moon. This Sabbath Day has no major planetary aspects, so get organized, clean up, and get your life in order.

Progressive strategy is promoted by asteroid Pallas Athena’s ingress into Aquarius on Monday where it will be for the next three months, soon to be joined by Jupiter and Saturn. Although we may want to drift off into inspiring distractions, this is another solid day for good work and efficiently tending to a multitude of tasks.

The Week in Short:

Sunday: Satisfy your desire for communication and conversation by phone or Zoom.

Thursday: Tough day emotionally. Lean in and do your best.

Friday: Joyful, enthusiastic day, perhaps ending with a surprising twist.

Saturday: Demanding, but benevolent, uplifting day.

Sunday: Clean up and get organized.

Monday: Another day for efficient, strong work, though distractions are tempting.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
