In the Stars July 10-17, 2022 . . . shining light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

This is the last full week with the Sun in Cancer, giving focus to home and family. Family gatherings are highlighted. This would be a good time to organize family photo collections, enjoying revisiting memories. Cancer likes to gather and nurture; canning summer foods would be satisfying.

The Moon is Full on Wednesday, July 13th at 11:37 a.m. PDT. This lunation highlights duty and responsibility, as the Capricorn Moon conjuncts Pluto. Neptune makes benefic aspects to the Full Moon, giving vision and compassion.

July 31-August 1 is a volatile time with Mars, Uranus, and the North Node conjunct. Consider the activities you plan then, and steer clear of difficult situations. Plan to use the energy for creative, risk-free endeavors.

Sunday is a more uplifting day, buoyed by the optimism and joy of the Sagittarius Moon. A Sun-Uranus sextile adds some spice, and a Moon-Jupiter trine calls for adventure. This is an exuberant day. Expand your horizons and explore outdoors.

We embark on a new week energetically with confidence and a willingness to take risks. Relax in the evening as the Moon squares Neptune and softens our energy.

Tuesday is an industrious day when much can be accomplished, supported by the hard-working Capricorn Moon, and a Moon-Mars trine in earth signs. The Moon’s square to Jupiter may tend toward feelings of overextension, but this aspect promotes achievement. A Venus-Saturn trine in air signs helps us talk things out and reach good conclusions.

A Full Moon lights the way on Wednesday, perfecting near noon Pacific Time (11:37 a.m. PDT) at 21:21 degrees of Capricorn. This lunation emphasizes duty and responsibility, as the Capricorn Moon is conjunct Pluto. The Moon/Saturn’s sextile to Neptune is uplifting and gives vision. A Moon-Mercury opposition opens communication to be addressed, and a Mercury-Uranus sextile helps it flow brilliantly.

The Moon is in friendly Aquarius on Thursday where it thrives on diversity and difference. A benefic Moon-Jupiter sextile uplifts the day.

On Friday the Aquarius Moon first squares Uranus, and then conjoins Saturn, highlighting what we need to let go of and do differently. A Moon-Venus trine will help us address issues with grace and resolve.

Saturday’s Pisces Moon offers compassion and soothes feelings. Pressure mounts due to a contentious conjunction of Mercury and Eris. Mercury also trines Neptune, giving relief, understanding, and carrying us off peacefully into dreamland at the end of the day.

Sunday is a tense day due to the Sun’s square to Eris. However, the Pisces Moon’s benefic sextile to Uranus may help us shake off the pricklies. Venus moves into compassionate Cancer, and the Moon makes four benefic aspects with other planets, reminding us that we have promising days ahead. A Mercury-Pluto opposition may lead to feelings of vulnerability and defensiveness, but we can overcome these obstacles.

We bounce into the work week on Monday with the high energy of the Aries Moon. Mercury-opposite-Pluto draws us into deep conversations and problem-solving.

Ten Things to Do with the Venus in Gemini (June 21- July 18) 1. Exchange books with neighbors that lead you in new directions.

2. Exercise flexibility in relationship.

3. Pick up the phone and connect with someone with whom you’ve been out of touch.

4. Acknowledge the variety expressions of love in your everyday life.

5. Write letters. (or email).

6. Plan a short trip.

7. Take an internet excursion and make at least three new discoveries.

8. Explore your surroundings and discover something new.

9. Connect with aunts, uncles, or cousins.

10. Think (and act) more flexibly with money matters—learn something new by listening to a book on tape about finances (you can get it from your local library) while driving.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
