In the Stars March 27-April 3, 2022...shining light on the astrology of the week: New Moon

The Sun is in Aries, a cardinal, action-oriented fire sign. Aries energy is quick, initiating, and independent. Aries is like a newly ignited fire burning brightly. The month of Aries invites initiations and new beginnings, courage, and leadership.

Mercury moves into Aries on Sunday, March 27th, speeding up our thinking, and lighting our intuitive minds. The New Moon in Aries perfects on Thursday, March 31 at 11:24 p.m. PDT or Friday, April 1 at 6:24 a.m. GMT. The week ahead invites fresh starts. Mars and Saturn conjunct on Monday, April 4, giving us patience, focus, and courage to make progress.

Jupiter is moving to perfect in a conjunction with Neptune on April 12th. This is a peaceful, inspiring combination that will influence the month of April. This Jupiter-Neptune conjunction invites us to let our imagination soar and dream new possibilities.

My friend and colleague Georgia Stathis wrote in her March 23rd newsletter about the opportunity of the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction: “In the next few weeks, set aside some ‘down’ time, allowing this new thing to show itself because the space for what you want is already filled with what you are settling for instead! Look around, read odd things, ask questions, try new things, get lots of sleep (in the sleep state we often produce answers) and again, most importantly be curious.” To subscribe to this blog, click here. Concerns focus on progressive issues on Sunday. A Moon-Uranus square may trigger unexpected twists and turns. Mercury moves into Aries where thinking and communication will be clearer than it has been the past few weeks with Mercury in Pisces. Feelings may be heated in the evening with the Moon’s aspects to Mars and Mercury, so keep your cool unless you want to be in a debate.

The Moon is void of course all day Monday. This is not a day to schedule meetings or tasks requiring decisions. Rather, it is a day for routine, inconsequential matters. Moon, Venus, Juno, and Saturn all meet at the 22nd degree of Aquarius. Neptune makes a benefic sextile to the North Node, shining light on a more peaceful future.

Tuesday’s Pisces Moon colors the day dreamy and creative. A Uranus-Moon sextile may shake the fog and offer something fresh and different. Relationship issues of commitment may be called into question. Partnerships could strengthen and stabilize, or change with the help of a Saturn-Juno conjunction,.

Wednesday’s Moon-Jupiter conjunction in Pisces is idealistic and life-affirming. The Moon-Neptune conjunction soon after adds to the uplifting energy. A challenging Mercury-Saturn aspect grounds us. Venus squares the nodal axis, beckoning us to examine whether or not relationships fulfill us, and are worthy of our engagement.

Thursday is ignited with the fire of the Aries Moon which perfects in a New Moon at 11:34 p.m. PDT. The New Moon conjuncts Chiron, indicating that the month ahead promises new healing opportunities. March ends with symbolic alignments of new beginnings.

April Fool’s Day Friday sports a fiery, independent Aries Moon. The Moon makes opportune sextiles to Mars and Saturn. Acting independently, a lot can be accomplished. The Sun is conjunct Chiron, inviting healing and reconciliation.

Saturday morning calls for a determined bounce out of bed to an invigorating day, heralded by a Moon-Pluto square at 6: 51 a.m. PDT. The Moon enters its sign of exaltation, Taurus, at 9:50 a.m., ushering in a weekend of sensual pleasure. This respite from the work week is set for gardening, cooking, and beautifying your home. A lot can be accomplished by plodding through task after task.

Uranus conjuncts the Taurus Moon on Sunday, changing our routine or dropping a surprise into this day of rest. The Moon delights in Taurus; the day offers pleasure. Take a hike in a new place, and proceed to manage practical matters and tasks at hand with ease and enjoyment.

A Mars-Saturn conjunction is the highlight of Monday, giving tremendous focus—or putting the brakes on forward movement. In addition, there is a lot of both flowing and challenging energy. An edgy aspect of the Taurus Moon’s square to Saturn and Mars increases focus or may be limiting. Benefic aspects include a Moon-Neptune sextile and a Moon-Pluto trine. There is a lot of planetary activity. Since the Moon is in practical Taurus, where it is exalted, expect these aspects to work in your favor. Make it an active, productive Monday.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
