The Total Solar Eclipse December 3-4 is this week’s big planetary news. This week ahead follows the partial Lunar Eclipse of November 19. Eclipses can trigger powerful events, either positive or difficult. These two weeks ahead between the eclipses may be intense. Keep things simple and get plenty of rest.
Neptune is slowing down to turn direct on Wednesday, December 1, casting inspiration, imagination, and vision over our lives. Fueled by a Mars trine to Neptune, we feel strength and passion in our ideals.
The Sun is now in the enthusiastic sign of Sagittarius tropically. We are set to enjoy the sparkling holiday season. Ongoing the skies hold the tense energy of the Eris-Pluto square, and the Saturn-Uranus square which will reach its third exact aspect December 24th. We live in a time of rapid change and amazing possibilities. The movement of the planets invite us into a dynamic engagement with opportunity and change.

Saturday and Sunday are industrious days for getting things in order. Put up your holiday lights and tree and get organized for the season. The Virgo Moon makes a harmonious trine to Uranus on Saturday, perhaps putting a twist in your day. Sunday you will be inspired to decorate your home; with the fuel of the Moon-Pluto trine, you can get a lot accomplished.
The Libra Moon’s grace and beauty is supported by numerous harmonious aspects on Monday. Now that your home has been cleaned and organized with the help of the weekend’s Virgo Moon, you can uplift it with more beauty and sparkle in the lunar light of Libra. Mercury (in Sagittarius) makes benefic aspects to Chiron (in Aries) and Saturn (in Aquarius) in the evening, inviting expansive, innovative, serious conversations.
November ends on Tuesday with a numerous benefic aspects that promote healing and understanding in relationships. The day begins with a flowing Sun-Chiron trine, followed by harmonious aspects sextiles between Venus and Neptune, promoting greater understanding, and aspects between the Sun and Saturn, giving consideration and respect. However, this is countered by the Moon's weekly dance with the challenging Pluto-Eris square. Yet, relief comes with an optimistic Moon-Jupiter trine.
Neptune stations direct on the first day of December, Wednesday, coloring the day with inspiration. Neptune’s direct motion leaves only one planet retrograde, Uranus, until January 18, after months of multiple planets in backward motion. Neptune’s strength fosters compassion and forgiveness. This would be an excellent day to make charitable donations for the remainder of 2021.
Thursday is a passionate day with strong emotions. On one hand, there is a strong emotional flow with the Scorpio Moon making benefic aspects to Neptune and Venus. On the other hand, Mars conjuncts the Moon, generating a lot of heat that can easily turn to anger. The Moon squares Jupiter, generating a feeling of overextension. Altogether, this is a day of dynamic energy that is fuel for enlivened expression and accomplishment.
The final eclipse of 2022, a Total Solar Eclipse, occurs late Friday night Pacific Time (11:42 p.m. PST), and on Saturday morning in later time zones. The eclipse, at 12:21 Sagittarius, is flanked by Mercury and Vesta. This could be an invitation to draw on more resources and to be more open to new ways of thinking about current projects. There is a lot of power to harness for thinking more expansively. The eclipse makes benefic aspects to Chiron and Saturn, offering support and maverick sparks of thought and inspiration.
The intensity of the eclipse is with us on Saturday. A harmonious Moon-Jupiter sextile lifts our spirits later in the day. Sagittarius loves to be social, and is upbeat. This first Saturday evening of December, with the eclipse just now in the rear-view mirror, calls out for a holiday party. Attend one or create one.
Sunday is an industrious day with the Capricorn Moon at work. You could accomplish a lot, be it Christmas shopping, baking, home decorating, or card writing, all in a frugal, efficient manner. The Moon trines Uranus Sunday evening, signaling that it is time to take a break and do something different.
Monday promises an industrious start to the work week with the Moon in Capricorn. There’s a lot of energy for diving deep and figuring things out with Mars (in Scorpio) sextile to Pluto (in Capricorn). On the other hand, as the day wears on, things get emotionally complicated as the Moon triggers the Eris-Pluto square. Issues of control rise up and may make trouble, so try to steer clear of possible trouble.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
