Sunday, April 19, the Sun moves into Taurus, ushering in a new zodiacal month focused on love, sensuality, security, and practical matters. This is a month to plant flowers and vegetables in your garden, to seed spring projects, and to tend and grow your finances.
Sunday, April 19, is Akshaya Tritiya, a special day in Vedic astrology when the sidereal placement of the Sun and Moon are both exalted. The Sun is in Aries, and the Moon is in Taurus sidereally, both of the luminaries’ signs of exaltation. While it is considered that all things done on this day are blessed by good luck, Sunday’s conjunction of Mercury, Mars, and Saturn, as well as the Kala Sarpa yoga is restrictive. Make the most of this auspicious day even with the notable challenges.
There is a Kala Sarpa yoga this week through April 26, when all of the planets (except outer planet Pluto) are hemmed in by the nodal axis. We will feel restrained by world events, and may feel frustrated and restricted personally as well.
Venus is in Taurus through April 23, one of the two signs it rules. In Taurus, the planet symbolizing love and money is in its happy place. Tend to financial matters, and consider how you can increase your resources. With Venus in Taurus, the next week invites us to let our love light shine. Indulge yourself in pleasure.

Saturday, April 18, the Moon is in Taurus. We are drawn to all things sensual. Take a hike in nature, and chill out listening to music in the evening. Pluto conjuncts Juno, the asteroid of the mate, and both are sextile to Mercury, Mars, and Saturn. This means that a lot of energy is focused on partnership. This is a day to fall deeply in love.
Sunday and Monday, April 19-20, the Moon is in Gemini. The Sun moves into Taurus on Sunday, ushering in a new zodiacal month focused on love, beauty, and practical matters. These are days for curiosity, connection, and community. Listen to a new podcast. Visit your library and find new books to read. Reach out and call a sibling. Plan a short trip or visit.
Monday, April 20, the Moon is void of course all day, so refrain from meetings or activities requiring decisions for this day. This first week day is best spent handling routine tasks such as filing, cleaning, reading, or gardening.
Tuesday through mid-day Thursday, April 21-23, the Moon is in Cancer. Home and family matters are highlighted. Wednesday, Earth Day, the Moon conjuncts Jupiter, generating enthusiasm and optimism. Use the positive energy to do something good for the planet, and for your family.
Thursday mid-day through Saturday, April 23-25, the Moon is in Leo. It’s time for fun! Venus moves into Gemini on Thursday, shifting its focus on the love of learning. Friday is a powerful day with the Moon square Pluto. We will feel empowered, ready to take on the challenges in our life and in the world.
Sunday and Monday, April 26-27, the Moon is in Virgo. This is the time of the month to efficiently clean up and take care of tasks on your “to do” list. The Moon’s invitation these days is to get your life in order. The Moon is void of course all day Monday, from 4:11 a.m. through Tuesday at 2:02 a.m. So, again, this is a dayfor routine, insignificant tasks rather than meetings and decisive actions.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions.
