In the Stars October 4-11, 2026 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun continues to shine in Libra tropically for another two weeks, and the focus is now on partnerships, balance, negotiations, and collaboration. Libra’s ruling planet is Venus, turned retrograde on Saturday, October 3, at 8 degrees of Scorpio. Venus will retrograde back to 22 degrees of Libra and turn direct on November 14. During the Venus retrograde period, we will want to examine our values and resources, and our spending habits. We will also want to repair and strengthen relationships.
There are three long void-of-course Moon periods in the coming week, as follows, in Pacific Time:
· October 6: 3:22 am-7:52 pm (Moon into Virgo)
· October 7 at 11:56 am through October 9 at 1:10 am (Moon into Libra)
· October 10 at 4:07 pm through October 11 at 8:21 am (Moon into Scorpio)
When the Moon is void it is not making a major aspect with other planets, and thus, not much is happening. We have a hard time making up our minds about matters, and meetings and connections often do not come together. These times are best for tending to routine tasks and doing things like gardening, reading, or processing email.

This Week:
Sunday, October 4, the Moon is in Cancer until 3:54 p.m. PDT, framing the day for home and family matters. The Sun opposes Saturn, reminding us of our commitments, duties, and limitations. You can feel like there is a lot weighing on you.
Sunday evening through Tuesday, October 4-6, the Moon is in Leo, inviting a playful, exuberant start to the week. On Monday the Leo Moon trines Saturn. You are able to make decisions for success. On Tuesday Mercury conjuncts Venus in Scorpio. You may receive a successful financial tip or the insight to re-balance your finances in a more advantageous way.
Wednesday and Thursday, October 7-8, the Moon is in Virgo. This is the clean-up time of the month to put your life in order. On Wednesday Mars makes a benefic sextile to Uranus, cranking up your inventive mind and good ideas to make amazing things happen.
Friday and Saturday, October 9-10, the Moon is in Libra. On Friday Mercury is inconjunct Saturn, making it challenging to get things right. The Moon is dark, inviting solitary, quiet time. Saturday, October 10, the New Moon occurs at 17:21 degrees Libra at 8:50 a.m. PDT. Your desires are strong with the New Moon in Libra, as well as the ability to manifest them.
Sunday and Monday, October 11-12, the Moon is in Scorpio. Feelings run deep and you will want to solve problems at a deep and satisfying level.
Planetary Pointers for the week ahead:
· Collaborate and cooperate and work on relationship issues.
· Open to innovative ideas.
· Consider your spending habits: too much or too little?

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
