In the Stars June 5-12, 2022 . . . shining light on the astrology of the week

Mercury turned direct on Friday, June 3, though it remains in its shadow until June 18, still exhibiting some of the retrograde qualities. Saturn turned retrograde on Saturday, June 4 and will spin backwards until October 22. This will give us pause to reconsider plans and projects.

Jupiter and Mars continue to travel close together in Aries, calling for adventure and expansive new beginnings. Take a leap forward. Mars and Venus are in their ruling signs, Aries and Taurus respectively, giving strength.

The Sun continues to shine in Gemini tropically, leading to the Summer Solstice on June 21. Graduation celebrations, short-distance trips, conversation, and connection call us.

Sunday’s Moon-Saturn opposition keeps us in check and tethered to our responsibilities. A testy Mercury-Moon square follows. Harness this energy to fine-tune plans or to tackle a writing project or pen a message to someone. Plan to take advantage of the efficient energy that is available the next few days by planning the week ahead.

The task-oriented Virgo Moon on Monday helps us tidy up and get organized. We can be creative and innovative in addressing the practical matters at hand.

Tuesday’s Virgo Moon desires another productive work day getting things accomplished. The Moon’s trine to Uranus claims independence. The Moon squares Gemini, leading us to distractions, and the later Moon-Neptune opposition makes us want to relax. Never mind the day’s ambitious intentions. Call it a night and catch some dreams.

We feel a surge of strong productive energy early Wednesday morning. Then the Moon moves into Libra, prompting us to work in partnership. A Moon-Jupiter opposition increases our appetite for socializing. Enjoy the beauty of the evening with someone you love.

A Moon-Mars opposition early in the day disrupts the peace and harmony that the Libra Moon desires. A Moon-Chiron opposition also contributes to unsettling feelings. Later in the day, a Moon-Sun trine brings greater ease and balance.

Friday may be a volatile day emotionally as the Moon squares Pluto and opposes Eris. A Moon-Saturn trine helps us stay in balance, honoring commitments and responsibilities. After a three-hour period when the Moon is void of course (10:36 a.m. – 1:41 p.m. PDT), the Moon moves into Scorpio. Then we are drawn into emotional depths, evoking honest conversations and a search for truth. As the Scorpio Moon will be with us most of the weekend, we many want to withdraw from social engagements, and soak in some quiet time.

Strident feelings of independence in matters of love and money are stirred on Saturday as Venus and Uranus conjunct. The Moon opposes this alignment, amplifying what has been aroused. Beware the Scorpio Moon can be controlling, which is counterproductive to the Venus/Uranus conjunction.

Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest, but it begins with a relentless Moon-Saturn square, demanding attention to work and duty. However, a Moon-Neptune trine eases the tension. The Moon’s opposition to Mercury may churn up disagreements. Yet, when the Moon arrives in Sagittarius our spirits are uplifted, and we let go of disgruntlements and issues about which we are fretting.

We are set for adventure on Monday with the Moon in sunny Sagittarius, opposing Mercury’s ingress into Gemini. We are curious and light-hearted. Trines to Mars and Chiron give us courage and motivate us to move forward and take a bit of risk.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
