In the Stars February 23-March 2, 2025 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

Mars stationed today, Sunday February 23, and turns direct Monday, February 24. There will be a brief period now when all planets will be in direct motion, until Venus turns retrograde March 2. Venus will be in Aries through June 7, though there will be a period March 28-May 1 in-between when it will dip back into Pisces due to retrograde motion. Venus in Aries invites us to be more active, assertive, and spontaneous. Projects will move forward with more energy in direct motion, so plan to take advantage of the brief period between February 24 and March 2.

Monday, February 24, the Capricorn Moon trines Uranus in Taurus. Start the week anew. Change things up and engage in something different. The day calls for anything but your usual routine. Later in the day the Moon conjuncts Pluto, igniting passion and conviction, perfect for a dynamic, supercharged discussion at my book club on Ruth Ben-Ghiat's Strongmen.

Mars continues to trine Saturn within a 3-degree orb nearly every day through April 18. This aspect provides focus, precision, and drive. This is excellent energy for the two months ahead to work diligently on a project, such as writing and editing an article or book, learning lines or music for a performance, or organizing and streamlining your work space or computer. Proceed both assertively with determination and carefulness. Aim for mastery and completion.

Friday, February 28 the Moon, Sun, Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, and Ceres will align in Pisces in the sky. Venus will be close in Aries. The best time to see this alignment will be shortly after sunset. Look for Venus and Saturn in the southwest sky, Jupiter overhead, and Mars in the east.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
