In the Stars February 2-9, 2025: Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

Deep Winter
Deep Winter

The Sun shines in Aquarius tropically now through February 18. The solar month of Aquarius symbolizes innovation, scientific exploration, concern for humanity, and building community.

Now there are a lot of planets in the arc of Aquarius (Sun, Pluto, Mercury), and Pisces (Saturn, Venus, Neptune). Aquarius and Pisces are in the societal concerns area of the horoscope. These zodiac signs are concerned with humanitarian causes, compassion, and service. The strong planetary energy in this arc invites us to volunteer, donate money to social causes, stand up for immigrant issues and rights, and welcoming interactions with people of diverse cultures.

Sunday February 2, is Groundhog Day. Vedic Astrologer Barry Rosen has written an inspiring article titled: “Life is Like Groundhog Day: Getting it Right with the Planets.” Barry encourages us to keep working with our weaker planets to grow in their challenges, while using our strong planets and talents. https://bit.ly/40KjKfx

Uranus turned direct on January 30. Unfortunately, the tragic plane crashes in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia corresponded with the Uranus station. Jupiter turns direct Tuesday, February 4. With Uranus and Jupiter direct, projects can then move forward quickly, and there will likely be a boost in the financial markets. Mercury trines Jupiter, creating an excellent time to make travel plans.

Venus conjuncts Neptune February 1-3, with the North Node within 2 degrees. This is an imaginative, artistic combination. Use this alignment to envision a kinder, more compassionate, more beautiful world. The Sabian Symbol for the Venus-Neptune alignment is “A Fertile Garden Under the Full Moon.” The symbol harbors satisfaction, blessings, and the enjoyment of the moment. Rewards can be harvested.

Venus moves into Aries on Tuesday, February 4, where it will be through June 7, though there will be a period March 28-May 1 in-between when it will dip back into Pisces due to retrograde motion. Venus in Aries invites us to be more active, ardent, assertive, and spontaneous.

Tuesday and Wednesday, February 4-5, the Moon is exalted in Taurus. These are days to please the senses and enjoy good food, music, sweet smells, and beauty. On Wednesday the Moon conjuncts Uranus, and some surprises could be expected. Thursday is an exuberant, optimistic day with the Moon conjunct Jupiter.

Saturn is trine Mars all week, exact February 6-11. This aspect provides focus, precision, and drive. Proceed assertively with intention, yet cautiously.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
