Happy Fourth of July! The Sun shines in Cancer, highlighting home, family, and tradition. This is a month for gardening, cooking, family picnics, and savoring memories.
Neptune turns retrograde Tuesday, July 7, and it will be its backward spin for the next five months until December 12, 2026. Neptune retrograde invites you to thing about the road you have taken, reflect on it, and envision what you want for your future. Neptune retrograde calls us to tune in to our intuition and imagination.
There are two long void Moon periods this week Friday, July 10 from 3:13 am-3:41 pm and Saturday, July 11, at 3:11 pm through Sunday, July 12, at 3:46 pm. Decisions are difficult when the Moon is void, and meetings often are delayed or don’t come together. It can even be hard to decide what to wear when the Moon is void. These void times are better for activities such as hiking, gardening, or reading, so plan accordingly. Read more about the void-of-course Moon at the end of this blog.
Mercury turned retrograde Monday, June 29, where it will be until July 23, so now it is time to review, reconsider, revise, and re-work plans and projects. It is a good time to clean up email in your in box, and make repairs.

This Week:
Saturday and Sunday, July 4-5, the Moon is in Pisces. The edgy, creative, reckless Mars/Uranus conjunction is at play. Be careful not to take risks with potentially dangerous situations. Sunday, July 5 is a golden, dreamy day. Sunday Mars trines Pluto. If you are not still in family vacation mode, the day is excellent for hard work and tackling a big project.
Monday (8:07 am PDT) through Wednesday afternoon (1:30 pm PDT), July 6-8, the Moon is in Aries. After the holiday weekend, we are ready to get back to work with vigor. Tuesday the Moon conjuncts Saturn, directing us to duties and responsibilities, and reminding us of limitations. Neptune turns retrograde. Allow yourself some introspective dream time and ponder the future you want to create.
Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon (3:41 pm PDT), July 8-10, the Moon is in Taurus. We are drawn to beauty and all things sensual. On Thursday Venus enters Virgo where it will be until August 6. See Ten Things to Do with Venus in Virgo further in this post. Friday Venus conjuncts the South Node. This is a good day for cleaning and releasing some things you no longer need or want.
Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon (3:46 pm PDT), July 10-12, the Moon is in Gemini. Friday evening the Moon conjuncts Uranus, perhaps bringing something surprising in the evening hours. Saturday the Moon conjuncts Mars, giving us energy, but these planets together can also generate frustration. The Gemini Moon is curious, and loves to take short distance trips. Plan to go somewhere new that is near you. Explore a museum, or the history of the place around where you live.
Sunday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon (3:35 pm PDT), July 12-14, the Moon is in Cancer. The focus now is on home. There is a New Moon Tuesday, July 14, at 21:59 degrees of Cancer, inviting us to set intentions around aspects of family, traditions, and feelings.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
