In the Stars September 4-11, 2022 ... Shining Light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

The Sun shines in Virgo tropically, highlighting harvest, order, and practical attention to details. Mercury goes retrograde on September 9th for its three-week backward spin. Tie up loose ends, and make travel plans and agreements before Friday. During the Mercury retrograde period it is time to review, reconsider, and revise.

Uranus has joined Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in retrograde motion. The many planets in retrograde signals a time for deep introspection and reconsideration.

Mars has moved into Gemini for a long seven-month stay in Gemini due to its retrograde motion that begins October 10. During this extended time we will be more open to new ideas and perspectives, and we may speak more freely. Our appetites for engaging in education and communication will increase. Gear up to read, converse, write, listen, and learn.

Saturn is retrograde, nearing a last tight square with Uranus. The combo will be nearly square for a few months, beginning September 14 and continuing through November. This aspect was active all of 2021, and calls for revolutionary change in our lives.

Sunday morning is dreamy as the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune, spurring inspiration, or leaving us in a fog. A Moon-Venus trine draws us closer to those we love. This is an optimistic day calling for adventure.

The week begins Monday with the Capricorn Moon demanding strong work and making and meeting goals. Lean in. A Sun-Moon trine toward evening eases tension and invokes divine order.

Tuesday is an active, turbulent day. First the Moon trines Uranus, setting the stage for independent thinking and doing. The Moon’s sextile to Neptune encourages us to imagine into the future. In addition, this is the day of the week when the Moon magnetizes the dynamic, volatile Eris-Pluto square. This is strong work day with tremendous potential to manifest and accomplish goals.

The friendly Aquarius Moon makes benefic aspects to Mercury, Jupiter, and Mars, setting the stage for an energized day of social activities. The Virgo Sun makes a trine to the North Node in Taurus, encouraging attention on practical matters.

The fixed sign Aquarius Moon activates the Saturn-Uranus square early on Thursday, stirring issues calling for attention and change. The focus may be on family as the Moon opposes Ceres. The Moon is void of course all day from 5:33 a.m. to 9:44 p.m. It may be difficult to decide what to do, and meetings scheduled during this time will not likely result in clear decisions or agreements. When the Moon is void it is better to spend the time doing routine, insignificant tasks such as filing, responding to email, gardening, cooking, or reading.

Mercury stations retrograde on Friday at 8:37 p.m. PDT. The three weeks ahead signal a time to reflect, review, and revise. Friday holds some uncomfortable energy with the Pisces Moon opposing Venus and squaring Mars. Issues may arise requiring change and adjustment. The Full Moon perfects in the early morning hours at 2:58 a.m. PDT.

Saturday’s early morning Full Moon is idealistic and dreamy, as the Moon is conjunct Neptune. Benefic aspects to Uranus and Pluto help to shape something into form. Uranus may bring an element of surprise, and may demand action as it squares Saturn.

The Moon shines in independent Aries on Sunday, joining optimistic Jupiter and opposing Mercury retrograde, beckoning adventure. We are invited to share ideas in the light of the Moon’s sextile to Mars in Gemini. This is a bold, dynamic, engaging day.

Monday's Moon-Saturn sextile can help ease us into our responsibilities. Action and initiation are themes of the day. The evening’s tone is turbulent, as the Moon makes contact with the evocative energy of the Eris-Pluto square.

The Week in Short:

Sunday: Inspiring day. Answer the call to adventure.

Monday: Industrious work day. Put your life in order.

Tuesday: Active, dynamic, productive day. Vision into the future.

Wednesday: Social activities are supported, as well as attention to practical matters of concern.

Thursday: Moon VoC all day from 5:33 a.m. Put your energy toward routine, insignificant tasks.

Friday: Uncomfortable day with changes and need for adjustments. Mercury turns retrograde.

Saturday: Idealistic, dreamy day that may result in twists and turns.

Sunday: Dynamic, engaging, adventurous day supporting sharing ideas, as well as some independent expression.

Monday: Responsibilities beckon and call for initiation and action. Beware of turbulent headwaters in the evening.

Ten Things to Do with the Venus in Virgo (September 4-28, 2022)

1. Make your life shipshape by attending to loose ends. 2. Organize your work space. 3. Deep clean your home. 4. Take a self-improvement course. 5. Expand your work. 6. Do a 3-day (or more) cleanse. 7. Eat a pure diet during this time. 8. Amplify your health regime. 9. Mend and iron your clothes. 10. Attend to the details in your job that call for attention.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
