Aries: The Ram
Aries: The Ram

The Sun is now in Aries, and Mars enters Aries on Thursday, April 9, joining Saturn, Chiron, and Neptune. Mars will be in Aries until May 18. The Sun and Mars burn strong and hot in Aries, generating a lot of fiery, initiatory energy to get moving and make things happen.

Venus is in Taurus through April 23, one of the two signs it rules. In Taurus, the planet symbolizing love and money is in its happy place. Tend to financial matters, and consider how you can increase your resources. With Venus in Taurus the next two weeks, we are invited to let our love light shine. Indulge yourself in pleasure.

Mercury moves past its shadow April 9, and communications will clear. All planets are now in direct motion until May 5 when Pluto turns retrograde.

This Week:

Easter Sunday, April 5, the Moon is in Scorpio and opposes Uranus. There may be disruptions or surprises in store. The Sun squares Jupiter, making for a brilliant, optimistic day, but one of excess. You may overeat or feel overextended, so be mindful of your limits.

Sunday afternoon through Tuesday, April 5-7, the Moon is in Sagittarius. Monday and Tuesday are days to bounce out of bed and get some exercise outdoors. Venus sextiles the North Node, lighting your path and purpose. They are also good days to make travel plans.

Wednesday through Friday afternoon, April 8-10, the Moon is in Capricorn. On Wednesday Mars makes a benefic sextile to Uranus. With this energy you are inventive, and ready to build something innovative. Mars enters Aries on Thursday, April 9. Mars is Aries’ ruling planet and here it makes things happen with confidence, courage, and swiftness. Friday the Moon makes a sextile to Mercury. You may receive more email and phone calls than usual, and find that many people want to connect with you.

Friday evening through Sunday, April 11-13, the Moon is in Aquarius. With the Moon in the fixed air sign symbolizing community, we broaden our reach, gather with friends, and extend ourselves to humanitarian causes. On Saturday, the Moon conjuncts Pluto, stirring strong feelings about social and political change. Step forward to make a difference. Act on your political convictions.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
