In the Stars February 6-13, 2022...shining light on the astrology of the week

Mercury is now direct in motion, though it will be in its shadow phase through February 14. We can now proceed with the projects and plans that we re-thought and revised while Mercury was retrograde.

The Sun is in Aquarius tropically, shining its light on humanity, organizations, immigration, diversity, multiple cultures, Aquarius is innovative and progressive.

There are six celestial bodies in earth signs: Mars, Vesta, Venus, Mercury, Pluto, and Uranus. This week there are five planets in earth sign Capricorn, and Uranus and the North Node in Taurus. With this many planets in earth signs, the week is another industrious one. Plan to get a lot accomplished.

On Sunday the Moon is void of course until 2:52 p.m. PST when it moves into Taurus. Void periods may be times of indecision. Focus on routine household tasks. Settle into a satisfying evening with good food and comfort, and plan your week ahead.

Monday is illuminated with an exalted Taurus Moon. Our senses want to be stimulated with beauty, fragrant smells, inspiring music, and good food. Expect the unexpected, and tend to the restrictions of a Moon-Saturn square. Enjoy a walk in nature.

Tuesday is filled with the creative drive of a Mars-Uranus trine. We want to push harder to make a difference. Numerous benefic aspects to the Moon give promise and progress. The Moon makes trines to Pluto and Mercury in earth signs, supporting problem solving and industry. A Moon-Neptune sextile gives inspiration and creativity.

The Moon is in Gemini tropically on Wednesday and Thursday, and there are limited aspects of import. Curiosity abounds these mid-week days. We may feel distracted, wanting to chase a number of different proclivities. Enjoy reading a book, conversing with siblings, or taking a short trip. A Moon-Saturn trine on Thursday can help us put pen to paper to formulate plans or to make strides on a writing project.

The Moon is void of course nearly all day on Friday, February 11, marking a time best for routine tasks or solitary activities such as reading or responding to email. Void Moon periods generally are not good for meetings and decision making. Mercury is conjunct Pluto, encouraging a deep dive into work, especially a writing project. The void Moon period lasts until 3:26 p.m. PDT when the Moon moves into Cancer and ushers in a weekend focused on home and family.

Saturday is full of mixed energies, some supportive, others challenging. The Cancer Moon shines on the day, encouraging cooking, gardening, and sprucing up your home. The challenging aspects include a Moon-Chiron square that may feel like a lack of support early in the day, and a feisty opposition to Venus and Mars later in the day. Supportive lunar aspects include a buoyant, benefic trine to Jupiter, and a freeing, opportune sextile to Uranus. The care and compassion of the Cancer Moon will carry you through the ups and downs of the day.

Sunday is blessed by an inspiring, soft trine to Neptune, which could be helpful in dealing with the harsh, demanding energies of the Moon’s square to Eris and opposition to Pluto later in the day. Stay focused on caring for your home and family.

The work week begins with confidence thanks to the Moon’s movement into Leo. Pluto perfects in trine aspect to the North Node, adding to the determination and willpower of the Leo Moon. Mercury moves back into Aquarius after its retrograde into Capricorn. Our thinking will be more innovative and progressive for the next month. Step into the bold, creative offerings of this first day of the work week.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
