In the Stars July 26-August 2, 2026 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

You may have noted that you did not receive a weekly update last week. I had an emergency appendectomy as a result of a ruptured appendix. I’m on the mend now and doing well.

Full Moon at 6:30 Aquarius Wednesday, July 29, at 7:36 a.m.
Full Moon at 6:30 Aquarius Wednesday, July 29, at 7:36 a.m.

The Sun now shines in Leo until August 22. The Sun is brilliant here in its ruling sign, symbolized by a regal, roaring lion, king of the jungle. Leos command attention and love to be appreciated, so shower some love on the Leos in your life. Leo symbolizes children, play, and creativity. Enjoy the summer with lots of recreation and fun.

Saturn stations to turn retrograde at 14 degrees Aries for the next five months on Sunday, July 26. The Saturn station will remind us of goals, limitations, challenges, and responsibilities.

The Moon will reach its fullness on Wednesday, July 29, at 7:36 a.m. PDT at 6:30 degrees of Aquarius. At that time the Moon will be below the horizon, so plan to view the southeastern sky after sunset on Wednesday to watch it rise. The Moon will appear fully illuminated for several nights around its peak. This Full Moon follows the second lowest path across the sky, second only to June’s Full Moon. Because of its proximity to Earth, it will appear to be especially large. This Full Moon is called a Buck Moon according the The Old Farmer’s Almanac, because the antlers of male deer (bucks) are in full growth mode at this time. Bucks shed and re-grow antlers each year, producing a larger and more impressive set with the passing years.

Jupiter opposes Pluto, and is sextile to Uranus and trine to Neptune. These planets form a supportive, cradle aspect. If you have planets in the range of 2 to 6 degrees of signs, you may be a recipient of this bold, positive, creative energy. Consider how you can best use it for a project or goal.

Mars in Gemini squares Venus in Virgo all week, exact on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This aspect will generate a week with a lot of activity and attention to detail. It would be a good week to focus on writing projects.

Mercury turned direct in motion July 24 We can move forward with new decisions, contracts, and travel plans.

There are three long void Moon periods this week:

·       July 25 at 7:58 am through July 26 at 6:44 am (Moon into Capricorn)

·       July 27 at 11:11 pm through July 28 at 6:46 pm (Moon into Aquarius)

·       July 30 at 2:26 pm through July 31 at 5:13 am (Moon into Pisces)

Decisions are difficult when the Moon is void, and meetings often are delayed or don’t come together. Void Moon times are better for activities such as hiking, gardening, or reading, so plan accordingly. Read more about the void-of-course Moon at the end of this blog.

This Week:

Saturday, July 25, the Moon is in Sagittarius. This is an optimistic day that favors outdoor adventures and socializing. The Moon is void of course all day, so let your energies flow toward insignificant activities such as reading, watching a ballgame, or enjoying a social outing.

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday until 6:36 pm PDT, July 26-28, the Moon is in Capricorn. These are productive days to get a lot accomplished. Saturn stations to move retrograde on Sunday. When a planet stations its energy is amplified, so these days there will be a strong pull toward responsibilities and a recognition of limitations. The North Node moves into Aquarius, a significant move as the nodal axis changes only every 18 months. The North Node in Aquarius focuses energy on the global family and humanitarian concerns. On a more personal level the focus will be on groups, organizations, and community. The Sun opposes Pluto, giving courage and confidence, and drive for vigorous work. On Monday the Sun trines Neptune in Aires and sextiles Uranus in Gemini. Ideas abound, and you can translate new thought into concrete plans.

Tuesday evening through Thursday, July 28-30, the Moon is in Aquarius. The Moon is Full and especially bright, as it is close to the horizon, on Wednesday, July 29. It reaches its fullness at 6:30 degrees of Aquarius at 7:36 a.m. PDT. The Sun in this Full Moon is conjunct Jupiter, and the Moon is conjunct Pluto. This is a magnanimous, confident Full Moon. Venus is square to Mars. On Thursday, the Moon trines Mars and inconjuncts Venus. There is a strong push to move forward, but something may be a little off-balance and need to be reconsidered or addressed. Thursday the Moon conjuncts the North Node. Venus and Mars are square in mutable signs Virgo and Gemini, respectively. This generates a lot of activity. This aspect would be particularly supportive of work on a writing project.

Friday through Sunday afternoon at 1:36 pm PDT, July 31-August 2, the Moon is in dreamy Pisces. Relax at an inspiring concert. Express your creative self with drawing, painting, playing music, or gardening.

Sunday afternoon through Tuesday, July 2-4, the Moon is in Aries. The Moon in Aries signals that it is time to get moving. Take action. Be spontaneous.

Planetary Pointers for the week ahead:

·       Do something fun. Enjoy the long days of summer.

·       Work on a writing project.

·       Set up the work week for maximum productivity.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
