In the Stars May 26-June 2, 2024 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun shines in Gemini, highlighting travel, communication, curiosity, and learning. The Sun joins Venus and Jupiter in the mutable air sign (Gemini), symbolizing conversation and friendliness, and Mercury joins them on June 3. Siblings are also spotlighted in the Gemini segment of the zodiac, so give them some special attention.

Mars and Eris perfect in a fiery, energetic, independent conjunction, and Jupiter perfects in a benefic trine to Pluto, urging us to strive for long-term goals and social change.

Strong work is the order of the day for Sunday, May 26 (not a day for rest). Mercury trines the Moon, offering good energy for planning and problem solving. However, squares to the Moon from Mars and Chiron may carry some frustration and impatience. As you look back at the weekend Sunday evening, you will be satisfied by all that you have accomplished.

Monday, May 27, is a powerful, exciting day with numerous aspects at play. The rumbling starts in the early morning hours with a Moon-Uranus trine and a Moon-Eris square, infusing our dreams with new ideas and possibilities. The Moon moves into Aquarius at 1:44 p.m. PDT, and shortly after that the Moon trines Jupiter and conjuncts Pluto. A Mercury-Saturn sextile calms the volatility, giving a measured, discerning energy to scattered notions. This day holds great potential for interesting, unexpected developments.

A lovely trine between the Aquarius Moon and the Gemini Sun on Tuesday, May 28, showers the day with benefic energy. Conversations are generative and progressive. Planetary energies are relatively calm.

The Aquarius Moon is more active on Wednesday, May 29, starting with a square to Mercury in the early morning hours, giving some resistance regarding plans or communication. However, Mercury is trine to Ceres, generating a more friendly, compassionate energy. Flowing alignments include the Moon’s sextiles to Mars and Chiron. Challenging alignments include the Moon’s squares to Uranus and Jupiter. There is a long void Moon period from 7:19 a.m.-5:32 p.m. PDT during which time we would do best to focus attention on routine tasks. At 5:32 p.m. PDT the Moon moves into compassionate, inspiring Pisces, fostering a sweet, joyful evening.

Open your mind to new ideas and insights on Thursday, May 30, as Mercury and Uranus conjunct, urging original, independent thinking. A Moon-Saturn square just after midnight early Friday morning can help us be discerning and direct the day’s innovative thoughts and invitations into new directions.

The last day of May is hopeful and idealistic as the Pisces Moon makes a benefic sextile to Uranus and Mercury. A Moon-Neptune conjunction heightens the imagination, and sprinkles some magic in the air. This is beautiful energy for the pre-wedding celebration I will be at in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The Moon shifts into fiery, independent Aries at 8:28 p.m. PDT and makes benefic sextiles to Jupiter and Pluto. For the next few days, encouraging, transformative events may develop.

Saturday, June 1, is an adventurous day filled with curiosity and conversation. The Aries Moon makes benefic sextiles to Venus and the Sun (blessings for the marriage I'll be attending that day). These alignments foster a lively, social day, great for an exploration of Santa Fe, meeting with friends, and celebrating a wedding as I will be doing. The effects of two major aspects that perfect tomorrow bless the day with powerful energy.

Sunday, June 2, is an extremely active cosmic day. The Moon conjuncts Chiron on Sunday morning, highlighting healing themes and independent thinking. Mars and Eris, two warrior planets, make a hot and fiery conjunction. Be sure to direct this orange, easily over-heated energy toward a positive, demanding aim, and be prepared to cool your temper. Jupiter perfects its trine to Pluto, generating a drive for social change and a better future. In addition, a visionary Mercury-Neptune sextile activates the imagination and intuition. We will be fueled with amazing ideas.

On Monday, June 3, the Taurus Moon squares Pluto, producing strong feelings and perhaps some power struggles. The Moon is exalted in Taurus, giving practical, grounded energy and the ability to get a lot accomplished. We will want to please our senses, as well as take care of matters at hand. Mercury ingresses into its ruling sign, Gemini, where it is strong and curious. A Mercury-Pluto trine enables us to think deeply about matters of concern.

The Week in Short:

Sunday: Strong work day with good problem-solving, and some challenges.

Monday: Volatile, energetic day with numerous possibilities, grounded with discernment and attention to practical matters at hand.

Tuesday: Calm day infused with progressive conversations.

Wednesday: Moon VoC 7:19 a.m.-5:32 p.m. PST during which focus on routine, insignificant tasks and avoid meetings and decisions. Mixed energies generate opportunities and challenges. Enjoy a sweet evening.

Thursday: Open your mind to new ideas and insights, and at the end of the day assess what is solid and worth pursuing.

Friday: Hopeful, idealistic, imaginative day.

Saturday: Adventurous, friendly day filled with curiosity and conversation.

Sunday: Extremely active day full of imaginative ideas and fiery, independent energy. Be generative and honor your thoughts and intuition.

Monday: Sensual, grounded day. Deep thinking about matters of concern.

Moon Void of Course:

This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
