The Sun is in Scorpio for the next month until November 20. This month invites us to dive deep and go inward. Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, November 2. The month of Scorpio holds Halloween, the Day of the Dead, and All Soul’s Day. Days are darker. The month calls for quiet time before the extroverted month of Sagittarius when holiday parties call us out for celebrations and connection. Spending time reading, researching,  and pondering can be satisfying when the Sun is in Scorpio.

I have been reading Reclaiming Astrology from the Patriarchy by Ralph & Lahni DeAmicis (2025). They explore alternative symbolism for zodiacal signs. For centuries Scorpio has been symbolized by the scorpion, a poisonous, mate-killing insect. They postulate that the eagle would be a much better symbol for this segment of the zodiac. They describe eagles are strategic, patient, and powerful. They note, "Wherever the Eagle (degrees of Scorpio) is found in a chart, it bestows intelligence, strategic brilliance, courage, and a willingness to do necessary, emotionally difficult tasks for the good of the tribe."

The week ahead is a productive one, beginning with the Moon in industrious Capricorn; it is followed by the Moon in Aquarius, traditionally ruled by Saturn, symbolizing work. Mars trines Saturn, giving drive, focus, and exactitude.

Mercury turns retrograde November 9, so now is the time to wrap up contracts and agreements, and finish invitations and missives that need to be sent out. The three-week Mercury retrograde period November 9-30 is a time for re-thinking and revising.

The Week Ahead:

Saturday, October 25, the Moon is in Sagittarius. Mercury trines Saturn, giving patience, precision and focus for work and solutions.

Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, October 26-28, the Moon is in Capricorn. These are productive days to lean in and get a lot accomplished. On Sunday morning the Moon squares Saturn and Neptune, reminding us of our duties, as well as the vision we desire. Mars trines Jupiter, exact on Monday, encouraging us to take risks and stretch toward our aims and goals. On Tuesday the Moon opposes Jupiter, boosting confidence. Go for it!

Wednesday and Thursday, October 29-30, the Moon is in Aquarius. On Wednesday Mercury moves into Sagittarius and opposes Uranus. This alignment could produce brilliant discoveries. There may be sudden outbursts of realization. Mars trines Saturn, giving focus, precision, and determination. These days, too, harbor productivity.

Friday and Saturday, October 31-November 1, the Moon is in Pisces. Friday the Moon squares Uranus which may bring surprises. Venus’ Day, Friday, invites us to relax with pleasantries and go with the flow.

Sunday and Monday, November 2-3, the Moon is in Aries. These days call for vigorous physical activity and adventure. Mars is opposite Uranus, exact on Tuesday. Go carefully, as this alignment can result in accidents from moving too fast or being reckless. This aspect can also help solve problems in clever ways.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
