The Sun is in Libra for the next two weeks, shining its light on relationships and connection. The Autumn season is here. The grapes are being harvested in Sonoma Valley (and elsewhere) and the summer crops will begin to die and decay. Days are shorter and cooler. Settle in, harvest, and enjoy the resources that you have gathered, and the accomplishments that you have achieved, this year.

The Full Moon occurs Monday, October 6, at 8:47 p.m. PDT at 14:08 degrees of Libra. The Sun's journey through Libra is a building close relationships and being social.

Most likely either there is a lot of activity and change in your life, or it is a relatively calm, easy time. Saturn and the outer planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are at the beginning of Aquarius (Pluto), Aries (Saturn and Neptune), and Gemini (Uranus). If you have personal planets near the beginning of a sign tropically, then you will be strongly affected by this alignment. If not, it will likely be a settled time for you.

Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are all now in retrograde motion. This energy is more internalized and invites us to introspect and reconsider our priorities.

Pluto is now out-of-bounds, and for a long period of time for the next ten years. A planet is out-of-bounds when its declination is more than 23:16 north or south of the ecliptic. When a planet is out-of-bounds it is erratic, unleashed, and unlimited. This is rare, as Pluto will not be out-of-bounds after 2035 for next few thousand years. Pluto is in a southern declination, signaling the uprising of people, versus an uprising of dictators when it is in the northern direction. The last time Pluto was out-of-bounds in a southern direction was 1775-1796 when the Revolutionary War raged and the revolutionaries colonized North America.

The Week Ahead:

Saturday and Sunday, October 4-5, the Moon is in Pisces. Time to dream a little. Kick back and watch a movie or listen to music. Express strong emotions (Moon trine Mars) on Saturday through a creative endeavor. The Moon trines Jupiter on Sunday, bringing good cheer.

Monday and Tuesday, October 6-7, the Moon is in Aries. A Full Moon perfects on Monday at 8:48 p.m. PDT at 14:08 degrees of Aries (Sun at 14:08 Libra). The Full Moon in Aries contains some hot, martial energy, so keep cool and carry on. Aries is also the sign of action and initiative. The Full Moon makes inconjunct aspects to Venus and Mars. Plans may need to be changed, so flexibility will help. On Tuesday Jupiter squares the Moon and Mercury squares Pluto. You may be provoked to change your mind about something that could create a profound change. There is also a long void Moon period on Tuesday from 11:23 am-10:12 pm PDT, during which time energies will be scattered and undefined. This is a period best used for insignificant tasks.

Wednesday and Thursday, October 8-9, the Moon is in Taurus. This is the time of the month to stop and smell the roses. Taurus delights in sensual pleasures. The Moon is at its best in Taurus. Venus makes a benefic sextile to Jupiter; beauty, pleasure, and generosity conspire to uplift these days.

Friday and Saturday, October 10-11, the Moon is in Gemini. Curiosity is ignited. This is a good time for a short trip or outing to explore something new. Read a book or watch a video and learn something new. Venus opposes Saturn on Saturday; responsibility trumps desire. You may have to wait for what you want.

Sunday and Monday, October 12-13, the Moon is in Cancer. These are days to cozy up at home and turn your attention to home and family. Cook some comfort food. Tend your garden and plants. Spruce up your home.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
