In the Stars May 24-31, 2020...shining light on the astrology of the week

The Sun is now moving through Gemini tropically, highlighting education (and school graduations), learning, communication, and short-distance travel. Yet, with five planets retrograde (Asteroid Pallas Athena, Saturn, Pluto, Venus, and Jupiter), it is difficult to move forward. Although we are on the brink of summer, travel is limited by Covid-19 restrictions, and we are limited in ways to gather as we usually do. During the time these planets are in retrograde, it is a good time to study, learn a new skill, and work on projects that require research, focus, or concentration. We are moving into eclipse territory, with a Lunar eclipse coming on June 5th, and a Solar eclipse on June 20th.

The Moon is void of course in Gemini most of Sunday. Take it easy and indulge yourself in a good read. Call your siblings. Write a letter. At 4:08 p.m. PDT the Moon moves into Cancer. Cook some nourishing comfort food and pamper yourself as you cap the weekend.

Monday is an action-oriented day with the cardinal Cancer Moon aspecting Ceres, Uranus, Mars, and Chiron. Get going, and get vigorous exercise. Focus on nurturing and supporting others, and attend to home and family matters.

After a slow, dreamy start Tuesday (Moon trine Neptune), the emotional landscape heats up and becomes demanding. Your limits may be pushed, and you may feel challenged and tested. Keep an even keel, press on, and row your boat to shore through the choppy water.

We are energized by the Moon in bright and playful Leo, while at the same time we are knocked around by an edgy Mars-Pluto aspect. Lean in, work hard, and enjoy the sunshine. Mercury and the North Node align at the last degree of Gemini, encouraging connection and conversation.

Thursday is a day to relax, pause, and play. The Moon is void of course all day from 6:30 a.m. until Friday at 4:40 a.m. PDT. Thus, Thursday is a day for insignificant, routine tasks and not for meetings or decisions. There are no exact aspects. Mercury goes into Cancer, orienting us toward home and family for the next two months until August 4th, as it will go retrograde on June 17th.

The Moon arrives in Virgo early Friday morning, signaling time to clean up and get your life in order on Friday and Saturday. Virgo symbolizes order, detail, cleanliness, and industriousness. If your life could benefit from tidying up and greater organization, and whose could not, then make the most of this good energy.

Saturday is another industrious day, even more supercharged as the Moon aspects Pluto and Jupiter. The Moon also makes an opposition to Neptune which may lead us off the track. In our cleaning frenzy we will be led to make our surroundings more beautiful. There are quite a few aspects, some easy, some challenging, and some at cross purposes, but the Virgo Moon will probably sort it out in a more or less orderly fashion, and a lot will be accomplished, in spite of some movement sideways.

Relationships are the focus on Sunday as the Moon moves into Libra. A Moon-Saturn trine in the morning sets limits in a good way, and draws us toward our responsibilities. A Moon-Chiron opposition later in the day helps us heal relationship issues. Libra loves beauty. Since you cleaned and organized the past two days with the Moon in Virgo, now add sprinkles of love and grace to your home and dear ones.

Monday holds a sweet benefic aspect between the Libra Moon and Venus in Gemini. At the same time the cardinal Moon makes and edgy square to Pluto, Jupiter. A lot can be accomplished, cooperatively and joyfully. Engage fully in this active day full of possibilities.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
