In the Stars April 2-9, 2023 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week: Full Moon

T

The Sun shines in Aries, where it is exalted and strong. Aries is courageous, assertive, and adventurous. The fiery Sun challenges us to take action and make things happen, but exercise caution, as Aries can be impulsive, reactive, and aggressive.

We are moving closer to an intense eclipse period from the Total Solar Eclipse April 20th through the Penumbral, or Partial, Lunar Eclipse May 5th. The eclipse period can be volatile, and this one especially so as some six planets are lined up in Aries along with several Fixed Starts. Keep your life as simple as possible during this time.

Mars continues Out of Bounds (OOB) until May 4th. Planets are OOB when their declination is more than 23 degrees, 27 minutes. When planets are out of bounds their energy is wild, unique, and extraordinary. The planet expresses itself unbounded, or without limits. People may be much more courageous and outspoken, as well as explosive and impulsive.

Sunday and Monday call us to get our lives in order, as the Moon is in Virgo. Sunday is an energetic, productive day to be focused on home chores.

On Monday Mercury moves into Taurus and squares Pluto, which triggers deep pondering, but can also lead to discord and disagreements. The Virgo Moon makes benefic trines to Uranus and Venus, giving new ways of getting work done. Make your space sparkle.

Tuesday morning the Moon conjuncts Neptune, casting a fog over the morning that may make it hard to focus. This aspect begins a void Moon period from 6:50 a.m. to 2:51 p.m. PDT., a time best for routine tasks, and not conducive to meetings or decision making. This is a good time to do routine clean-up. At 2:51 p.m. PDT the Moon moves into Libra, drawing us toward social interaction for the rest of the day. A Moon-Pluto trine draws us into deep conversations and concerns, and sparks motivation.

The Moon is Full on Wednesday, highlighting relationships. There may be surprising connections that emerge. If reparations need to be made, this is a good opportunity to make them. Mercury aligns in a benefic sextile to Saturn, giving reason and focus to our dialogues. Mercury-Saturn is also a good aspect for writing. Mercury conjuncts the North Node, drawing us toward our true values and purposeful endeavors.

Feelings are exaggerated on Thursday as the Moon opposes Jupiter and Eris. A Moon-Pluto square colors the evening, and churns up stronger emotions. The Libra Moon loves balance and harmony, so focus on those qualities as you sail the rough waters of the day.

Friday and Saturday the Moon lurks in the deep waters of Scorpio, surfacing deep feelings. This Easter weekend we may want some contemplative time alone. Venus sextiles Neptune on Good Friday, inviting prayer and compassion. We would benefit from immersing ourselves in beauty, perhaps attending an art reception or an inspiring film, or attending a concert or musical event.

Something startling may occur on Black Saturday, as the Scorpio Moon opposes Uranus. You may be shaken out of your comfort zone, or your brooding, in the depths of the Scorpio Moon. In the evening the Moon trines Neptune, inviting us to relax and lose ourselves in a movie or a dance trance.

Easter Sunday is uplifting, yet sobering. The Moon shines in Sagittarius, making a tense square to Saturn and a benefic sextile to Pluto early in the day. The Sagittarius Moon is both social and spiritual, so Easter Sunday gatherings are blessed.

Monday is an optimistic day, sporting the Sagittarius Moon that aspects nurturing Ceres, expansive Jupiter, and visionary Neptune. Venus moves into Gemini where it will reside until May 7th, enlivening conversation and generating good humor.

Ten Things to Do with the Venus in Taurus (March 16-April 10) 1. Plant spring flowers in your garden. 2. Cook delicious food to delight your taste buds. 3. Get a massage. 4. Get a fresh hair cut. 5. Freshen your wardrobe. 6. Spray a delightful scent such as rose water around your face. 7. Find some delightful new inspiring music. 8. Create a new playlist to inspire your everyday life. 9. Grow your savings. 10. Adorn yourself with beautiful clothing and jewelry.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
