The Sun is in Capricorn, along with Venus and Mars. Mercury moves into Capricorn, joining them, on Friday, January 1. Mars, Venus, and the Sun are within 2 degrees of each other the entire coming week. We will want to get down to business and handle our responsibilities as we close out 2025 and begin a new year.
Mars is in its sign of exaltation, Capricorn, until January 23. This placement supports career moves and executive functioning.
On Saturday, January 3, the Moon moves to its fullness in Cancer. The Sun is conjunct Venus and Mars, and the Full Moon in Cancer is conjunct Jupiter and the Star Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, except for the Sun. Sirius is considered to be deeply spiritual. Women’s issues may be highlighted, and prominent women may be in the news. This is a strong, industrious, enthusiastic lunation. Use it to shine your light in the world.
Mars and Venus are out of bounds (OOB). A planet is out of bounds when its declination is greater than 23:26 degrees south or north of the ecliptic. Mercury joins them OOB December 29. This is a lot of OOB activity. When planets are OOB their activity is more unruly, erratic, and free. We could do a lot of out-of-the box creative thinking at this time this coming week.

The Week Ahead:
Saturday and Sunday, December 27-28, the Moon is in Aries. With three planets in cardinal Capricorn, and the Moon in cardinal fire sign Aries, it is time to get moving physically, as well as with all the tasks there are to do. The Moon conjuncts Chiron on Sunday, December 28, inviting attention on healing.
Monday and Tuesday, December 29-30, the Moon is in Taurus, its sign of exaltation. Mercury squares Saturn on Monday, testing our thoughts, yet providing strong mental focus. The Moon squares Pluto, giving determination, and challenging us to clear out mental and physical debris before the new year. On Tuesday the Moon sextiles Jupiter, giving optimism and buoyancy. This, coupled with the exalted Moon in Taurus, invite comfort and pleasure. It is a good evening for a get-together with people we enjoy, which I will be doing.
Wednesday and Thursday, December 31 and January 1, the Moon is in Gemini. As the Moon enters Gemini on Wednesday, New Year’s Eve, the Moon trines Pluto, empowering us close out 2025 is a strong, gregarious manner. New Year’s Eve parties will be dazzling with light-hearted fun and chatter. On Thursday, New Year’s Day, we may feel the distractions of the Mercury-Neptune square, while at the same time we are moved to stay focused and productive with the support of a Mars-Sun-Venus conjunction in Capricorn. These alignments support New Year’s Resolutions that are both visionary and practical.
Friday and Saturday, January 2-3, the Moon is in Cancer. The focus is on home, family, and comfort. Mercury opposes the Moon on Friday, calling for negotiation and working things out. The Moon reaches its fullness on Saturday at 2:02 a.m. at 13:01 degrees of Cancer. Optimism is ignited as the Moon is near Jupiter. This Supermoon is close to the earth and is strengthened by the Sun’s conjunction with Venus and Mars. Make this day count with what you initiate and produce.
Sunday and Monday, January 4-5, the Moon is in Leo. On Sunday morning the Moon opposes Pluto. There may be power struggles, or you may be determined to push through with a difficult problem. On Monday the Moon makes an inconjunct aspect to the Sun, Mars, and Venus. Though we may meet with some challenges, our determination and conviction helps us figure out ways to work things out and move forward.

________
Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
