In the Stars December 7-14, 2025 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

Holiday Season Treats
Holiday Season Treats

The Sun is now in Sagittarius which symbolizes optimism, expansion, travel, and higher knowledge and wisdom. Enjoy the dazzling holiday season.

Mercury and Saturn are now direct, and Neptune turns direct on Wednesday, November 10, then leaving only Jupiter and Uranus in retrograde motion. We will feel more momentum. Mercury moves into Sagittarius on Thursday, joining the Sun, Venus, and Mars. Sagittarius is optimistic and exuberant, and also excessive. With all these planets in Sagittarius, you may be prone to overspending, so be advised and mindful.

There is a beneficial Grand Water Trine pattern holding until December 10. Mercury is in Scorpio; Saturn is in Pisces (as well as Neptune a few degrees further); and Jupiter is in Cancer. If you have planets or angles at 24-29 degrees of any of these water signs, you will be boosted by this grand trine energy.

Mars moves into Capricorn on Sunday, December 14, and will stay in this cardinal earth sign until January 23. Mars is exalted in Capricorn; it will support career moves and strong executive functioning during this time, especially when the Sun moves into Capricorn on December 21.

The Week Ahead:

Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7, the Moon is in Cancer. On Saturday, December 6, Mercury trines Jupiter, making way for heart-to-heart conversations. The Cancer Moon invites us to cozy up at home with family, and enjoy comfort food and connection. On Sunday, Mars inconjuncts Jupiter, and Mercury in Scorpio trines Saturn in Pisces. These aspects together combine bold action with careful consideration. Sunday is a great day to take a leap forward, while carefully considering the plan.

Monday and Tuesday, December 8-9, the Moon is in Leo. On Monday Mars squares Saturn, calling for a vigorous physical workout. You can feel blocked, but you can also use the energy to exercise your strength and push through with whatever you need to do. On Tuesday the Moon trines Mars; obstacles clear and you can move forward quickly with ease.

Wednesday and Thursday, December 10-11, the Moon is in Virgo. These are the clean-up-and-get-organized days of the Lunar month. Neptune turns direct on Wednesday, inviting a visionary, poetic day, but also there may be some confusion. A planet's energy is highlighted when it makes a station. Mercury moves into Sagittarius tropically, and joins the Sun, Venus, and Mars in the mutable fire sign Sagittarius. The Moon is in mutable earth sign Venus, making for a lot of variable energy. These two days may wobble with changes, so be flexible. They are great days for getting a lot of tasks accomplished efficiently, so make the most of them.  On Wednesday Mercury opposes Uranus, giving quick, out-of-the-box thinking. You can easily solve problems with fresh ideas. On Thursday Mercury trines Neptune, inviting us to make some magic. Put on some inspiring music while you go about your tasks. Wrap packages and prepare food with extra beauty, and spread joy.

Friday through Sunday, December 12-14, the Moon is in Libra, inviting us to engage in social connections. Early Friday morning the Moon trines Uranus, encouraging change. Re-arrange something in your house, or change your routine to activate the potential energy. On Saturday the Moon sextiles Venus, and Mercury sextiles Pluto. These are opportune aspects for social events and generative conversations. On Sunday Mars enters Capricorn where it is exalted. Mars in Capricorn strengthens careers and executive functions.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
