In the Stars February 12-19, 2023 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

We are in the last days of the Sun’s stay in Aquarius tropically. Aquarius symbolizes friendships of all kinds, diversity, and a concern for social justice, equity, and inclusion. Aquarius also symbolizes technology and invention, and it is the sign that governs astrology. The Sun will move into Pisces on Saturday, February 18, and form a New Moon late Sunday, February 19, or the morning of February 20 depending on your time zone (7:05 a.m. GMT on February 20).

All planets are now in direct motion for three months until April 21. Plans and projects now move forward swiftly with greater ease.

Mars continues Out of Bounds (OOB) until May 4th. Planets are OOB when their declination is more than 23 degrees, 27 minutes. When planets are out of bounds their energy is wild, unique, and extraordinary. The planet expresses itself unbounded, or without limits. People may be much more courageous and outspoken than usual. Because Mars is explosive and impulsive, volatile energy may be unleashed.

On Sunday, the Scorpio Moon takes us into our deep feelings and the privacy or our thoughts. The Moon opposes Uranus, stirring feelings of independence and rebellion. The day may hold a few surprises.

We are called to go deep into work projects on Monday. Mid-day the Moon squares Saturn, and later the Moon makes a benefic sextile to Pluto, both encouraging attention on work. We can lighten up in the evening when the Moon moves into Sagittarius at 5:30 p.m. PST, generating a setting for a social gathering.

Tuesday, Valentine’s Day, we are itching to stretch and move in light of a Jupiter-Moon trine in fire signs. We are buoyant, optimistic, and adventurous. A Moon-Mars opposition challenges us to be active, and can also be tense and acrimonious. This is a day to reach for the stars and realize goals.

Wednesday holds more sweetness than Valentine’s Day did yesterday. It would be a better day to celebrate your love. Venus and Neptune conjunct in visionary Pisces. The Moon squares the Venus-Neptune conjunction, connecting to the idealistic, romantic agenda. The Sagittarius Moon invokes generosity and a shower of good will and cheerfulness.

Thursday is a serious, productive work day framed by the industrious Capricorn Moon. The Sun conjuncts Saturn, demanding attention on responsibilities. A Moon-Uranus trine may lead to breakthroughs, diversions, and surprises.

The Moon continues in Capricorn on Friday, heralding another stable day of good work. A benefic Moon-Venus sextile and a Mercury-Jupiter sextile set the stage for expansive, friendly, generative conversations. A Moon-Pluto conjunction in the evening may call for a late night of work to complete goals.

The Sun ingresses into Pisces on Saturday, ushering in a month symbolized by imagination, illumination, and creativity. A Moon-Jupiter sextile gives optimism and vision. A Moon-Uranus square draws us toward independence, and a Moon-Mars trine gives energy for making dreams come true.

Sunday is a day for friendships, especially for groups of amigos to gather. On the other hand, since the Moon is dark most of the day, this may be a day when we want to withdraw to our own solitude. A Moon-Saturn conjunction calls for hard work. The New Moon in Pisces forms at 11:05 p.m. PST. Monday is a day of new beginnings.

Monday is framed for work, and attention on diversity, equity, and inclusion. A benefic Moon-Uranus sextile orients us toward freedom of expression, and a Moon-Mars square challenges us to keep things moving.

The Week in Short:

Sunday: Feelings run deep and independence and rebellion are stirred.

Monday: Lean into work earnestly, and enjoy a light, expansive social evening.

Tuesday: Get out and move. This is a day for hearty exercise and reaching for goals.

Wednesday: Sweet, expansive, generous day.

Thursday: Industrious work day with the potential for breakthroughs and dicoveries.

Friday: strong work day that may extend into the evening. Expansive, generative conversations are supported.

Saturday: Sun moves into Pisces tropically, ushering in a month of illumination and imagination. Optimistic day in which we are drawn toward independence.

Sunday: Gather with friends, or withdraw in solitude. The day demands strong work.

Monday: Productive work day oriented toward concerns about equity, diversity, and inclusion. Keep moving.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
