The Sun is in full strength in Cancer for one more week until July 22 when it will move into Leo. The focus continues to be on home and family, cooking and gardening, sensitivity and caring. Spruce up your home. Invite friends and family for a home cooked meal. Express extra care and concern for those in your circle who are lonely, ill, and or in distress.
Planetary shifts continue this week. Saturn turns retrograde Saturday, July 12, and will be in retrograde motion until November 27 when it turns direct again. On September 1 Saturn will move back into Pisces for a last stay there in the mutable water sign until February 14, 2026. This may correspond with strong events having to do with water such as floods and hurricanes. Saturn is strong this week, drawing our attention to work, duties, and responsibilities.
Mercury slows to a station on Wednesday and Thursday, and turns retrograde at 9:45 p.m. PDT on Friday, July 18. The Mercury retrograde period will last three weeks through August 11. This period gives us an opportunity to finish undone tasks, and to review, reconsider, review, revise, and re-do. It can be interesting to observe how your thinking changes during the retrograde period about some things that have been in motion. Finish tasks in the next few days that require definitive decisions such as travel plans, before Mercury turns retrograde . During the retrograde period, it is best used to review and finish what is already in motion rather than start something new. It is a good period to handle your backlog of email.
Mars in Virgo through August 6 urges self-discipline, building an exercise routine, and getting detailed tasks completed. Venus is now in Gemini, highlighting communication, siblings, and short-distance excursions.
Uranus is now in Gemini, bringing change to communication systems. Innovations will be forthcoming rapidly. In July and August Uranus is trine Pluto in Aquarius, supercharging the themes of Uranus in Gemini. Saturn and Neptune will be in Aries at the midpoint between Uranus and Pluto in sextile aspect. This will be a potent combination for ideas, innovations, and information.
The Moon's Signs in the Week Ahead; All times below in Pacific Time:
Friday through late Sunday afternoon, July 11-13, the Moon is in Aquarius, creating a good time to connect with friends and acquaintances. On Sunday, July 13, the Moon squares Uranus, enabling us to think outside of the usual. The Moon is void of course for a long period July 12 at 12:44 pm through July 13 at 4:44 pm PDT. The void Moon period is not a good time for shopping or decisions; it is best used for gardening, household chores, and insignificant tasks.
On Sunday the 13th Saturn turns retrograde. It will be in a backward spin for over four months until November 28. During this time you might revisit a work opportunity. Saturn symbolizes self-discipline and hard work. This would be a good time to take on more work and a new challenge.
Monday and Tuesday, July 14-15, the Moon is in Pisces where it will amplify our imagination and creativity. On Monday the Pisces Moon trines Jupiter, giving an extra dose of sensitivity, compassion, and idealism. On Tuesday the Moon trines the Sun, giving a sense of peace and harmony. Reach out to someone who could use some extra tender care.
Wednesday and Thursday, July 16-17, the Moon is in bold, fiery, energetic Aries. Early Wednesday it will conjunct Saturn and Neptune, encouraging us to translate vision into concrete results, though at the same time we may be wanting to escape responsibilities, or at least take it a little easier.
Friday and Saturday, July 18-19, the Moon is in Taurus, where it is exalted, calling for all kinds of pleasure. Mercury turns retrograde at 10:45 p.m. PDT on Friday at 15 degrees of Leo tropically. Mercury is in a benefic sextile to Jupiter. Good ideas flow. Lavish yourself and others with extra love and attention. It is OK to indulge! On Sunday the Moon trines Mars, giving strength. While it would be a good day to run a marathon, you may at least want to use it energetically to propel a project forward.
Sunday and Monday, July 20-21, the Moon is in conversant Gemini. Call a sibling for a chat. Meet a friend for coffee and conversation. Read something that will inspire new ideas.

Ten Things to Do with Venus in Gemini (July 4-August 25, 2025)
1. Exchange books with friends that lead you in new directions.
2. Exercise flexibility in relationship.
3. Pick up the phone and connect with someone with whom you’ve been out of touch.
4. Acknowledge the various expressions of love in your everyday life.
5. Write letters.
6. Plan a short trip.
7. Take an internet excursion and make at least three new discoveries.
8. Explore your surroundings and discover something new.
9. Connect with aunts, uncles, or cousins.
10. Think (and act) more flexibly with money matters—learn something new by listening to a podcast about finances.
Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
