New Moon June 14 at 24 degrees of Gemini
New Moon June 14 at 24 degrees of Gemini

The week begins with a New Moon in Gemini on Sunday, June 14, at 24 degrees of the mutable air sign symbolized by the Twins, indicating the dual nature of the sign. Gemini has many interests is a curious energy.

The Sun shines in Gemini tropically for another week through June 21. Travel, communication, connection, and curiosity are strong themes in the coming 7 days.

The Sun ingresses into Cancer on Sunday, June 21. This marks the Summer Solstice, the longest day of light.

Chiron moves into Taurus on June 19, a significant change as Chiron has been in Aries since May 2018. Chiron brings us into close contact with Taurean themes for healing having to do with security, finances, and the physical things we have and own. Chiron will be in Taurus only briefly until September 17, and then Chiron will move retrograde back into Aries until April 2027.

Mercury turns retrograde June 29; get your travel plans made, contracts signed, and communication out before the 29th. Tie up loose ends of projects started and commitments in motion.

This Week:

Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14, the Moon is in Gemini. On Saturday Venus enters Leo. See Ten Things to Do with Venus in Leo below. This is a social day, with several lunar aspects. Venus loves to party, so make this an active weekend to gather with others. A New Moon occurs on Sunday, Flag Day, at 24 degrees of Gemini. The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is “A Gardener Trimming Large Palm Trees.” This indicates cleaning up decay and making space for a clean start. New Moons invite us to set intentions. The New Gemini Moon call out themes of learning, short distance travel, and engagement with siblings, cousins, and neighbors.

Monday and Tuesday, June 15 and 16, the Moon is in Cancer. On Monday Venus in Leo is sextile to Uranus in Gemini, inviting the meeting of a new friend or financial opportunity. On Tuesday Venus is parallel to Jupiter, and trine to Neptune, a golden combination of benefic, visionary, imaginative, expansive energy. These alignments shout: Go for it!

Wednesday and Thursday, June 17 and 18, the Moon is in Leo. Recreation and summer fun are on your mind and in the foreground. On Wednesday Venus in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius. This alignment may draw us into a deep process around a love relationship. You may want to confront something, and by bringing it into conversation, you transform and deepen the relationship.

Friday through Sunday afternoon at 1:54 p.m. PDT, June 19-21, the Moon is in Virgo. These days are the time of the month to clean up and get your life in order.  Sunday is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. The Sun ingresses into the sign of Cancer, ushering in a month focused on home, family, history, and traditions.

Sunday at 1:54 p.m. PDT through Tuesday, June 21-23, the Moon is in Libra.

We turn our attention to our partner and social relations. We seek love and beauty, ease and equanimity. On Sunday the Moon inconjuncts Saturn. While we would rather be playing, we are called to our responsibilities.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
