On Saturday, May 16, a New Moon forms at 25 degrees of Taurus. This is a social day that calls for a lot of pleasure.

The Sun shines in Taurus tropically for a few more days. The Sun enters Gemini at 5:37 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, May 20. The new solar month will start with a bang and a few surprises as the Sun and Mercury will conjunct Uranus.

The week ahead is full of movement and change. Four planets change signs: The Sun and Mercury enter Gemini; Mars moves into Taurus; and Venus moves into Cancer. Here is a list of the entries and exits of these four planets:

·         Mercury into Gemini (May 17-June 1)

·         Mars into Taurus (May 18-June 28)

·         Venus into Cancer (May 18-June 13)

·         Sun into Gemini (May 20-June 21)

This Week:

Saturday, May 16, the Moon is in Taurus. A New Moon forms at 1:01 p.m. PDT at 25 degrees of Taurus. This is a good day to set goals for the new lunar month ahead regarding financial and other practical matters, and particularly in the Taurus area of your horoscope in which this New Moon falls. Taurus loves to please the senses, so indulge yourself in a concert, a yummy home-cooked meal, or a dinner out at a fine restaurant. Venus sextiles Mars all weekend, re-charging your love life and creative endeavors.

Sunday and Monday, May 17-18, the Moon is in Gemini. It is time to turn up the heat on your social life, take a short trip, and connect with your siblings. Sunday Mercury enters Gemini and conjuncts Uranus. Your mind will be churning out brilliant ideas. Conversations will be lively, and could generate surprising discoveries. This is a day for trying new things. The Moon is void of course from 12:35 p.m. PDT Sunday through Monday at 6:46 p.m. PDT. Don’t be surprised if you have trouble deciding what to do with this last part of the weekend and all day Monday. Relax and enjoy puttering in your garden, reading a book, or taking a walk, or tend to routine matters as you start your work week.

Monday invites us to visualize our desires (Venus sextiles Neptune). Allow yourself to feel excited about summer opportunities, and be conversant with others.  Mars moves into Taurus at 3:35 p.m. PDT and Venus moves into Cancer at 6:05 p.m. PDT. Mars enters the sign symbolizing money and resources; Venus enters the sign symbolizing home and family. It is a good time to turn your attention to sprucing up your home, but be careful to spend money wisely.

Tuesday and Wednesday, May 19-20, the Moon is in Cancer.  Mercury squares the nodal axis, so it can be time to try something new, but you could also fall back into old, familiar patterns. Mercury trines Pluto, enabling you to resolve a challenge and make commitments. Wednesday the Sun enters Gemini, and your world becomes livelier, and perhaps more chaotic. The Moon is void of course all day, so keep plans flexible and your day focused on insignificant matters. This is not a good day for meetings, decisions, and connections.

Thursday and Friday, May 21-22, the Moon is in Leo. It is time for fun and games. Allow your imagination to bring to mind what you want, and set intentions to manifest your desires. Friday the Sun conjuncts Uranus; there may be twists, turns, diversions, and surprises. Be open to the magic that presents itself.

Saturday and Sunday, May 23-24, the Moon is in Virgo. These are the days of month framed for getting tasks completed and getting your life in order. Sunday is a white circle day, an especially dreamy good one. The Sun sextiles Neptune and Jupiter sextiles the Moon. This is a day for thinking big thoughts.

Monday through Wednesday, May 25-27, the Moon is in Libra. Our attention turns to love and beauty. Give some extra attention to your romantic partner.

Planetary Pointers for the week ahead:

·         Four planets change signs, and Mercury and the Sun move into mutable Gemini. Be ready to move and change, and welcome a little chaos. This week will be busy, fun, and surprising.

·         Plan ahead for the long void Moons: Sunday mid-day through Monday evening, and all day Wednesday. These are days for routine tasks and tending to insignificant matters. It is difficult, and often unproductive, to make decisions and connections. (See list at the end of this blog.)

·         Brilliant ideas flow. Be conversant and be open to surprising realizations.

·         Spruce up your home.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
