In the Stars September 21-28, 2025 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

Libra: The Scales
Libra: The Scales

A partial Solar Eclipse occurred Sunday, September 21 at 12:53 p.m. PDT at 29 degrees Virgo. This can be a time of big changes and shocking events. You may be sorting through your life looking at what you want to let go or change. Be compassionate with others who may be dealing with big shifts.

The Sun moves into Libra on Monday, September 22, The focus for the next month will be on  relationships and connection. Also on Monday the 22nd Mars enters Scorpio where it will be until November 4. Mars is the ancient ruler of Scorpio, so does well in this sign. It would be a good time to move forward with new projects.                                                                                                 Pluto is now out-of-bounds, and for a long period of time for the next ten years. A planet is out-of-bounds when its declination is more than 23:16 north or south of the ecliptic. When a planet is out-of-bounds it is erratic, unleashed, and unlimited. This is rare, as Pluto will not be out-of-bounds after 2035 for next few thousand years. Pluto is in a southern declination, signaling the uprising of people, versus an uprising of dictators when it is in the northern direction. The last time Pluto was out-of-bounds in a southern direction was 1775-1796 when the Revolutionary War raged and the revolutionaries colonized North America.

The Week Ahead:

Sunday at 2:40 pm through Tuesday, September 21-23, the Moon is in Libra. Sunday at 12:53 p.m. PDT there is a partial Solar Eclipse, so keep the day as simple as possible. Sunday afternoon the Moon moves into Libra, forming a Grand Air Trine with Uranus and Pluto, and opposing the Saturn-Neptune conjunction. Mars enters Scorpio on Monday, adding some zip to the day. Tuesday the Sun forms a Grand Air Trine with Uranus and Pluto. These are powerful aspects for forging relationships and commitments. Innovative ideas abound. Long-standing problems may be solved with fresh perspectives.

Tuesday the Scorpio Moon is void of course all day which could mean that we are easily distracted and indecisive. Mars and Pluto square, making for a fiery day prone to confrontation. Tuesday is a mixed, chaotic day, so go easy and see what you can draw from its energy.

Wednesday through Friday afternoon (2:36 pm PDT), September 24-26, the Moon is in Scorpio. We may want to draw inward and take some space for ourselves to rejuvenate. Diving into a research project is favored. The Moon trines Jupiter on Thursday, giving levity and good cheer.

Friday afternoon through Sunday, September 26-28, the Moon is in Sagittarius. Put a bounce in your step and join a party. I’ll be at my 55th high school class reunion!  Great weekend for a fun time! You can make it so as well.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
