In the Stars September 22-29, 2024 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week
The Sun moves into the sign of Libra on Sunday, September 22, the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are equal. The equinox ushers in a new solar month when the focus will be on relationships, love, and beauty.
Uranus, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune, and Pluto are retrograde, inviting reflection.
This week is between eclipses, so go easy. An annular Solar Eclipse occurs on Wednesday, October 2 at 10 degrees Libra tropically.
______
Saturday sports a Mercury-Jupiter square that may lead to too much talking. The Sun’s trine to Pluto enables us to find transformative solutions to some of the problems that emerged the past couple of days. A Moon-Mercury trine in the afternoon could help smooth things out as well. The evening’s Moon-Uranus conjunction may bring changes in plans or take you in new directions. Try a new restaurant or cuisine for dinner.
Sunday, September 22, dawns with a Grand Earth trine between Sun, Moon/Uranus, and Pluto, providing powerful grounding energy early in the day. Soon after these aspects perfect, both the Sun and Moon move into air signs Libra and Gemini respectively. This is the day of the Autumn Equinox, when day and night are equally balanced. However, Venus makes difficult aspects to Saturn and Pluto, making relationships prone to conflict and constriction. Do your best to balance the energies at play.
The work week starts with the restraint of a Moon-Saturn square Monday morning, September 23. Be discerning with speech. Optimism increases as the day wears on and the Moon conjuncts Jupiter. A downside to the Moon-Jupiter exuberance of the conjunction in Gemini exuberance is that there may be too much talking. Use the energy to ignite curiosity.
Tuesday, September 23, is a day open to new ideas and brilliant thinking due to a Mercury-Uranus trine. The Moon moves into Cancer at 7:50 a.m. PDT, ushering in a focus on home and family matters. A Moon-Venus trine sweetens the day, and showers it with nurturance. The Last Quarter Sun-Moon square may bring tension. Symbolically it brings pressure to complete the aims and intentions in the next week that were set forth at the Virgo New Moon September 2.
Mercury, the trickster planet symbolizing communication, is active Wednesday, September 24. Mercury is still in aspect to Uranus, making a waning trine. Mercury opposes Neptune and trines Pluto. Dive deep to resolve problems with conviction; however, we may fail to see the full issue clearly. We also may be prone to jump to conclusions, or take action prematurely. It may be best to take a more measured approach and wait for clarity. Wednesday will be an active day with interconnections and ideas.
Messenger planet Mercury moves into Libra on Thursday, September 25. While Mercury is in the sign of the scales for the next 17 days, it will be easier to see both sides of an issue and mediate conflict. However, it will also be more difficult to make definitive decisions. Thursday is an intense day emotionally, with the Cancer Moon aspecting Eris, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. At 3:47 p.m. PDT the Moon moves into Leo, and being conjunct Pluto, drama may be generated. Yet, the evening is filled with enthusiasm and can be fun.
An opportune benefic sextile between the Libra Sun and Leo Moon breeds romance on Friday, September 27. However, a Moon-Venus square could bring some tension to the love in the air. Relationships and passion are themes, but wise and measured responses are best.
The weekend’s romantic theme continues on Saturday, September 28. A desire for more space and independence emerges as evening comes. The Libra Sun’s alignment with the South Node may bring us into contact with old relationships, and relational patterns of the past may confront us.
Sunday, September 29, is not a day of rest from an astrological perspective. The Virgo Moon calls for industry and efficiency and getting our lives in order. A Mars-Saturn trine in water signs help the Virgo Moon attend to the tasks at hand. Relational connections from the past are still supported.
The desire to check off the tasks on our list continues on Monday, September 30. A Moon-Saturn opposition may make us feel that the goals we have set are impossible to attain. A Jupiter-Moon square may correspond with feeling overextended. Garner the courage of the Moon-Mars sextile to do all you can do.
The Week in Short:
Saturday: Talkative, transformative day. Solutions can be found to problems. Expect surprises.
Sunday: Autumn Equinox. Grounded day, but testy relationship issues may emerge.
Monday: Restraint is felt early in the day, but enthusiasm and optimism emerge later in the day. Be curious.
Tuesday: Open your mind and expand your thinking. Nurture your loved ones and friends.
Wednesday: Numerous ideas abound, but clarity is lacking, so hold off on decisions and moving forward. Take a measured, thoughtful approach to an active day.
Thursday: Intense, moody day. In the evening, tension eases into fun, creativity, and enthusiasm.
Friday: Venus’ Day is primed for romance, but measure your enthusiasm.
Saturday: Themes of romance continue, though we desire more independence as the day wears on. We may connect with old friends and partners.
Sunday: Industrious day to efficiently get your life in order.
Monday: Garner courage and optimism to do all you can do to accomplish the tasks on your to-do list..

Moon Void of Course:
This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
