In the Stars September 24-October 1, 2023 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun is now in Libra until October 23, drawing our focus toward relationships and social pleasures.
There is a Full Moon on Friday, September 29 at 2: 57 a.m. PDT., inviting us to check in on how we are doing with the goals we set at the New Moon two weeks ago. With the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Aries, the focus will be on relationships. This Full Moon holds a Venus-Uranus square, so we may be faced with truth in relationship issues. Also, we may feel a need to honor our own independent needs.
Six planets are now retrograde: Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. All this retrograde energy invites an interior, reflective, intuitive focus. Retrograde planets are slow, and thus, their energy is amplified. This is a good time to reflect, re-think, and re-work plans and projects. Mercury is still in its retrograde shadow period through September 30, so the Mercury retrograde attributes of mix-ups and breakdowns may continue for another week.

Sunday is full of dynamic aspects, and is anything but relaxing. The Moon trines Uranus, squares, Eris, and conjuncts Pluto. There may be some unplanned diversions in the day, as well as some strong emotions that emerge. Aim to get some work done and go about it independently. Gather with friends for Sunday dinner.
Monday, September 25, is an agreeable, friendly day. Innovative ideas flow; alignments make it a good day for meetings. Have coffee or lunch with a friend.
The emotionally independent Aquarius Moon opposes Venus and squares Uranus on Tuesday, September 26. This may result in people feeling that they need more emotional space in relationships. At 5:18 p.m. PDT the Moon moves into Pisces and immediately opposes Saturn, continuing to cool interpersonal relations. This is a day to focus on your own needs and do something different than usual.
Against the backdrop of a Pisces Moon on Wednesday, September 27, the day is colored with compassion and creativity, buoyed by a benefic Moon-Jupiter sextile. Communication is infused with imagination and fantasy in the evening as the Moon opposes Mercury.
Thursday, September 28, is a lovely day to go with the flow of this watery day that is likely to go differently than planned due to a Moon-Uranus sextile in the early morning, followed by a Moon conjunct Neptune in Pisces. The Moon is void of course 1:57 p.m.-5:17 p.m. PDT, inviting a period of paus to read, garden, or putter with some routine tasks. At 5:17 p.m. PDT the Moon bounces into Aries. We are energized then to spring into action.
The Moon reaches its fullness on Friday, September 29, at 2: 57 a.m. PDT. With Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra, the challenge is to balance personal and relational needs. A Venus-Uranus square may make us want to seek freedom from relational entanglements; a Moon-Chiron conjunction may bring up hurt feelings. The Full Moon is a good time to check in with yourself about intentions set two weeks ago when the Sun and Moon were joined together in Virgo.
The last day of September on Saturday holds a lot of planetary activity, both helpful (moon trine Venus; Moon sextile Saturn, and challenging (Moon opposite Mars; Moon conjunct Eris; Moon square Pluto). At 6:18 p.m. PDT the Moon moves into its exaltation (highest functioning placement) in Taurus, softening the demanding energies of the day, and offering a mature, practical response to the day’s upheavals and offerings.
Sunday’s Taurus Moon invites indulgence in sensual pleasures. 1:57 p.m.-5:17 p.m. Enjoy a hike and bask in nature. An exuberant Moon-Jupiter conjunction heightens our sense of satisfaction.
On Monday, October 2, Mercury opposes Neptune, sparking imaginative, idealistic thinking, though it can also lead to disillusion. The Taurus Moon conjuncts Uranus, which may take us off course to amazing new discoveries.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
