In the Stars April 25-May 2, 2021...shining light on the astrology of the week: Full Moon

The Sun shines strong in Taurus, highlighting all things sensual. This is the month to immerse ourselves in beauty and indulge in life's pleasures such as good food, wine, and music. Taurus is a fertile earth sign, ruled by Venus. It is time for seeding things you want to grow.

The Full Moon perfects on Monday evening (8:31 p.m. PDT). The Full Moon is closely tied to the Uranus-Saturn square, with the Sun conjunct Uranus, and Saturn square to the Sun and Moon. With Uranus involved, surprises may be in store.

Sunday offers an opportunity to resolve relationship issues. We want to socialize, and surround ourselves with beauty.

The work week begins with a Moon-Pluto square on Monday, stirring emotions in the early morning hours. The Moon is Full in Scorpio, exact at 8:31 p.m. PDT. The Full Moon forms a powerful square to Saturn, and the Sun is conjunct Uranus. Thus, this Full Moon highlights the Saturn-Uranus conjunction. The planets in this Full Moon configuration are in fixed signs. There is a great amount of determination and resolve to highlight issues and figure out sound steps forward.

Pluto stations and turns retrograde on Tuesday for a five-month backward spin. When a planet turns direction its energy intensifies. Given the violence of the recent past, let’s hope that Pluto finds a proper outlet for its strong, transformative energy. There is nothing light about this day, as there are numerous challenging aspects. However, in the evening the Scorpio Moon trines Neptune, easing us into relaxation.

The mood lightens Wednesday morning when it bounces out of the deep waters of Scorpio into the sunshine of Sagittarius. This hump day of the week is fairly quiet in the cosmos. Take a hike, and imagine your future travel plans. Express the exuberance and optimism of the Sag Moon.

A Moon-Saturn sextile on Thursday provides some stability, and beckons us to tend to responsibilities. A Mercury-Neptune sextile opens our hearts, and gives us cause to pause and attune to others. Overall, it’s a buoyant day.

Friday, the last day of April, is graced by a Capricorn Moon that would normally express itself as conservative and contracted. However, the Sun is conjunct Uranus, so there may be unexpected twists and turns. A Moon-Mars opposition galvanizes conflict and contrary opinions that could be utilized to solve problems.

Saturday should be a productive day with the Moon in Capricorn that is trine to the Sun in stable earth sign Taurus. Mercury is in a powerful, positive trine aspect to Pluto the next couple of days. Thinking is strong, clear, and intentional. Plan future projects.

Sunday morning boasts a powerful Moon-Pluto conjunction. Emotions run strong, and we are intent on completing our goals. This aspect ushers in a Moon void of course period from 7:37 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. which is framed for routine tasks. At 12:30 p.m. the Moon moves into Aquarius. Spend the afternoon and/or evening with friends.

The week begins on a serious note with a Sun-Saturn square. Lean in and plan to get a lot accomplished. The Moon conjuncts Saturn and squares Uranus! Break through old problems and create new structures. Mercury enters Gemini, the sign it rules and where it is quite comfortable. The next few weeks are poised for talking and sharing ideas and discoveries.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
