Following Sunday’s New Moon at 28:43 degrees of Capricorn tropically, the Sun moves into Aquarius on Monday, January 19. Aquarius symbolizes friendship and humanity. This is a month to honor old friends and make new ones. It is also a month to reach out and support social causes, whether participating in a protest march, writing or calling your congressmen or senators, or donating to social causes whose mission you want to support.
Neptune turns direct on Monday, January 26. Neptune entered Aries in 2025, but then backed into Pisces. Now it will be in Aries for the next 13 years until March 2039. When Neptune was last in Aries in the late 1800s, advancements were made in chemistry and energy. Newspapers and magazines were mass produced and this was the era of the spiritualist movement. Expect innovation.

The Week Ahead:
Friday through Sunday afternoon, January 16-18, the Moon is in Capricorn. As the Moon moves into Capricorn, it signals an industrious, productive time of the month, so move forward and make things happen. The Sun trines Uranus on Saturday, galvanizing change. On Sunday morning this Capricorn Moon perfects in a New Moon and also joins Mercury, Mars, and Venus, in addition to the Sun. The Moon also approaches Pluto toward a conjunction later in the day. This is a super strong, demanding alignment. Sunday offers a social day, as Mercury trines Uranus and sextiles Saturn and Neptune. Make the most of the great potential of these days.
Sunday afternoon through Tuesday, January 18-20, the Moon is in Aquarius. The Sun moves into Aquarius tropically on Sunday evening at 5:45 p.m. PST. The Aquarius Moon joins Pluto, generating a powerful energy which could be explosive, and can be used for transformation for good. Aquarius symbolizes friendship and concern for the welfare of humanity. We could use a big dose of the best of Aquarius’ offerings now. Spread good will especially to immigrant, impoverished, and oppressed people in our world. Sunday and Monday are what astrologers Ralph and Lahni DeAmicis call white circle days that are filled with supportive alignments which could benefit the common good. On Tuesday Mercury enters Aquarius where it is particularly brilliant. Mercury aligns with Saturn and Neptune, giving both visionary and practical thoughts.
Wednesday and Thursday, January 21-22, the Moon is in Pisces. It’s time dream with the Moon shining in Pisces. On Thursday the Moon conjuncts Saturn, focusing attention on responsibilities and duties. Emotions may be constrained.
Friday through Sunday morning, January 23-25, the Moon is in Aries. Rise and shine early on Friday and get moving. Take initiative. Friday is another glorious white circle day to make the most of powerful supportive aspects. We can feel overextended on Saturday as the Moon squares Jupiter; at the same time we will have the capacity to get a lot accomplished.
Sunday morning through mid-day Tuesday, January 25-27, the Moon is in Taurus , drawing us toward sensual pleasures. On Monday, the 26th, Neptune enters Aries for the next 13 years. This is a big shift toward innovation and invention. Mars and Pluto are moving toward a conjunction, exact on Tuesday. Various social and personal issues will likely heat up. On Tuesday the Moon conjuncts Uranus; expect volatility and surprises.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
