In the Stars August 28-September 5, 2022 ... Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun shines in Virgo tropically, highlighting harvest, self-improvement, discrimination, order, and cleanliness. Uranus has joined Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto in retrograde motion, inviting deep introspection and reconsideration.

Mars has moved into Gemini for a long seven-month stay in Gemini due to its retrograde motion that begins October 10. During this time we will be more open to new ideas and perspectives, and we may speak more freely. Appetites for engaging in education and communication will increase. Gear up to read, converse, write, listen, and learn.

Saturn is retrograde nearing a last tight square with Uranus. The combo will be closely square for a few months, beginning September 14 and continuing through November. This square, active all of 2021, calls for revolutionary change in our lives.

Sunday holds a benefic trine from the Moon to Uranus early in the day, and a trine to Pluto at the end of the day. These aspects are in earth signs, giving practicality and grounding to get a lot accomplished. There could be some disruption in plans in the morning, but if so, follow the energy. A Venus-Saturn opposition calls attention to duty and work that needs to be done, while a Moon-Neptune opposition keeps our eye on the prize, and gives vision and inspiration.

Monday, August 29th, is my birthday! The Moon is in relationship-oriented Libra, conjunct Mercury, seeking cooperation and harmony. The Moon also makes a benefic trine to Mars, and opposes Jupiter, giving energy and enthusiasm for the finer things in life and relating socially.

Expectations may be more than what is reasonable Tuesday in light of the Sun’s quincunx to Jupiter. We may feel our wounds in light of the Moon’s opposition to Chiron. Later in the day the Moon makes benefic aspects to Saturn and Venus, giving confidence and a greater sense of sufficiency.

After a slow start to Wednesday morning, the Moon moves into the fixed waters of Scorpio, stirring emotions. Deep conversations are fostered, and truths may be revealed.

Thursday, September 1, is the day of the week that ignites the Saturn-Uranus conjunction. The Moon opposes Uranus, triggering diversion, or surprise. The Moon’s square to Saturn follows, unleashing tension and contraction. The aspect may create discomfort and instability that can lead to change.

Friday is an active day with numerous aspects. The Moon is void of course from 10:21 a.m. to 3:40 p.m., during which it is best to attend to routine tasks and refrain from meetings or activities calling for decisions. Use the time to wind down from the week’s demands. The Moon moves into sunny Sagittarius at 3:40 p.m. PDT, inviting us to create a fun, social evening. Jupiter opposes Mercury, and amplifies conversation. Enjoy!

Saturday’s Sagittarius Moon opposes Mars in Gemini, generating agitation. This opposition forms a T-square with the Virgo Sun. This mutable T-square may result in frustrations and changes in plans. It is an active day. The Sagittarius Moon loves to hike in the outdoors, so plan an active adventure in nature.

Sunday morning is dreamy as the Sagittarius Moon squares Neptune, spurring inspiration, or leaving us in a fog. A Moon-Venus trine draws us closer to those we love. This is an optimistic day calling for adventure.

The work week begins Monday with the Capricorn Moon demanding strong work and making and meeting goals. Lean in. A Sun-Moon trine toward evening eases tension and invokes divine order.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
