In the Stars February 18-25, 2024 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week
The week begins with the Sun, Pluto, Mercury, Mars, and Venus in Aquarius, although the Sun moves into Pisces on February 19. Then there will be four planets in Aquarius, and three in Pisces (Sun, Saturn, and Neptune). Aquarius is all about diversity, independence, and innovation.
Pisces symbolizes compassion and concern for the collective, as well as creativity, inspiration, and imagination. Both signs symbolize outreach and openness to humanity at large.
A Full Moon lights the sky this coming week on Saturday, February 24th. This Full Moon in Virgo calls for attention to detail, organization, and getting your life in order.
The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction is tightening. This week these planets are 10 degrees apart, moving toward an exact conjunction April 17-21. This aspect, occurring once every 13 years, is powerfully innovative and expansive. If you are thinking about a project, now would be a great time to start. Be expansive in your imagination about what is possible, as this spring holds great energy for invention and discovery.
_______
The Moon trines Mercury and squares Neptune, on Sunday, February 18, making it a good day for writing or reading. The Sun ingresses into Pisces at 8:13 p.m. PST.
Monday, February 19, holds the caring, home-oriented energy of the Cancer Moon. A Moon-Saturn trine Monday morning gives common sense and industriousness. Chiron conjoins the North Node, symbolizing a focus on higher purpose and holistic living. The day is sprinkled with inspiration due to a Moon-Jupiter sextile.
Tuesday, February 20, is a day of both challenging and flowing energies. The Moon’s squares to Chiron and Eris may trigger sensitivities and overreactions. The Moon’s sextile to Uranus helps us detach and turn our attention elsewhere, and the Moon’s trine to Neptune in the evening invites us to relax and flow into dreamland. This grand water trine opens our intuition, and ignites our imagination.
On Wednesday, February 21, Mars and Venus, planets symbolizing the masculine and feminine, conjunct. The conjunction itself generates enthusiasm, creativity, and passion. The Moon is in opposition to the Pluto/Mars/Venus conjunction. The combination is emotionally intense. Use the energy to engage in something about which you are passionate.
Thursday, February 22, is an exuberant day with the Moon in Leo. The fixed fiery energy of Leo is amplified by a Moon-Jupiter square. A few hours later the Moon squares Uranus, creating chaos, change, and surprises in the trajectory of the day. Mercury moves into Pisces for a quick pass through the flowing water sign for the next 17 days until March 9th. This marks a strong period for creative writing or artistic expression, though it may be hard to exercise the discipline required to generate a creative product.
The Moon is void of course all day Friday, February 23, until 5:37 p.m. PST when it moves into Virgo. During this long void Moon period. it would be good to focus on routine tasks from the work week, pause and go for a walk, or take time off to play if that is possible. Energies are undefined, and it is not a good time for decision making or for productive meetings. On the other hand, when the Moon ingresses into Virgo in the evening, it is time to get organized. The weekend is framed for clean-up and getting a lot of tasks accomplished.
The Full Moon in Virgo occurs on Saturday, February 24 at 5:22 degrees. The Moon opposes the Sun, Saturn, and Mercury. This lunation demands attention on order, detail, and discernment. The planets in Pisces soften the focus of Virgo and can be chaotic. The energies in this Full Moon offer balance. For example, you could make tremendous strides on a creative project, or you could reimagine a room as you clean up. Or you could compose a song. The Moon trines Jupiter, amplifying the energies of the Full Moon. Make the most of this productive, creative alignment.
Sunday, February 25, is another day to put order in your life. Although weekends generally invite relaxation and outings, this is a day for working on tasks and organization that need to be done. The Moon’s trine to Uranus may change your schedule or intentions and introduce something unexpected in the day. In the evening the Moon opposes Neptune which may cloud vision, or expand and lift it. The Moon-Neptune opposition carries us into a restful sleep and imaginative dream space.
We aim for harmony on Monday, February 26, as the Moon enters Libra. A Moon-Pluto trine in air signs makes it a strong day for communication and connection. A Mars-Jupiter square gives determination and strength. A lot can be accomplished, especially with human relations.

Moon Void of Course:
This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
