In the Stars June 4-11, 2023 . . . Shining light on the Astrology of the Week

The Sun continues to shine in Gemini tropically. Here the focus is on curiosity and discovery, short distance travel, and learning new skills, languages, and facts. This zodiacal month invites us to explore our cities, counties, and nearby surroundings. It calls us to learn something new, engage in generative conversations, and to make meaningful connections.
This week begins with a Full Moon on Saturday, June 3, unleashing potential for learning. We yearn to travel and discover, both long and short distances. This lunation highlights community and connection.
The work week is industrious with the Moon in Saturn-ruled Capricorn followed by Aquarius. It ends on a softer note on Friday with the Moon in sensitive, inspiring Pisces. On Sunday, June 11, Pluto backs into Capricorn where it will be until January 20, 2024 where is will likely churn up more political disruptions worldwide.

Saturday boasts a Full Moon in Sagittarius. This lunation has a mix of alignments. Saturn squares the Moon, adding restraint. On the other hand, Mars trines the Moon, boosting energy and encouraging expansion and action. The best of both aspects is measured action, or calculated risk. Take this weekend day to expand your horizons in the outdoors.
Sunday, June 4, is a brilliant day. Mercury and Uranus conjunct. Our minds are filled with expansive ideas. This would be a great day to gather with interesting friends for dinner and conversation. Pay attention to your intuitive thoughts.
The work week begins on a serious note Monday, June 5, with the Moon in hard-working Capricorn. Venus moves into playful, creative Leo (see Ten Things to Do with Venus in Leo below) and opposes Pluto, focusing on powerful relationship issues. The Moon-Jupiter trine gives blessings, and encourages expansive thinking. A benefic Moon-Saturn sextile holds us to responsibilities with flow.
The industrious Capricorn Moon paints Tuesday, June 6, another strong work day. An element of change or diversion will show up due to a Moon-Uranus trine. While we are tested with a Moon-Eris square, a soft Neptune-Moon sextile ends the day with a sense of accomplishment. The evening hours may grow in intensity as the Moon moves towards a conjunction with Pluto just after midnight Pacific time.
Wednesday’s (June 7) Aquarius Moon ignites the Grand Cross that is still at play between Pluto, Jupiter, Mars, and the nodes. The dynamic energy is bold and active. Use the tension to make things happen. You could become short-tempered as the day wears on, so keep the energy moving in healthy ways.
Conversations are ignited by the Moon’s trine to the Gemini Sun on Thursday, June 8th. A Moon-Uranus square may generate new ideas, or provoke surprising interactions. Talk may be edgy as the day wears on, agitated by the Moon’s square to Mercury in fixed signs. However, discussions may generate new ideas that challenge the status quo.
The work week ends Friday, June 9, with a kinder, gentler energy as the Moon moves into Pisces. Mercury makes benefic aspects to Ceres and Neptune, enhancing empathetic communication and understanding. A Moon-Saturn conjunction gives restraint, and is helpful in tying up responsibilities for the work week.
With the Moon in Pisces, Saturday, June 10, would be a good day for gardening. Later in the day you might want to saunter through an art exhibit or play some music, and then plan to take in a film in the evening. The last quarter phase of the Moon is reached, inviting a review of projects to be completed before the lunar cycle ends a week later on June 17th.
On Sunday, June 11, Pluto backs into Capricorn where it will be until January 20, 2024. In Capricorn the Moon will likely churn up more political disruptions worldwide. On a personal level, these are months to re-examine the structures in our lives and consider what needs to be re-constructed going forward. Mercury moves into Gemini, the sign it rules and where it is strong. This placement activates a need to gain and share information. Mercury in Gemini is quick, staying only two weeks in this excellent place. The Moon begins a new cycle in Aries, igniting a sense of adventure. However, Jupiter squares Venus which can lead to self-indulgence. Make it a social day, blessed by a Moon-Venus trine.
Monday morning’s Moon-Mars trine sparks a desire to get a vigorous work week moving. The Moon’s conjunction with Chiron invites self-care. A Moon-Sun sextile at the end of the day gives a sense of satisfaction.
The Week in Short:
Sunday: Brilliant ideas flow. Gather with friends for conversation.
Monday: Good, sound work day, with blessings. Attend to responsibilities in the flow.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
