In the Stars November 13-20, 2022 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week
Take solitude for yourself in the coming week with the Sun in Scorpio before the holiday spirit is ignited when the Sun moves into Sagittarius on November 22.
The Saturn-Uranus square figured prominently in the November 8th eclipse as the Sun and Moon were conjunct Uranus, and thus square Saturn. Indeed there were unexpected twists and outcomes as a result of the election. The effects of the eclipse can be felt for a while after it occurs.
Mars is retrograde until January 12th, encouraging us to re-work old projects. Continue to read, converse, write, listen, and learn. Mars and Venus are now out of bounds (OOB). Mercury will go OOB on November 23rd, and the Moon will go OOB on November 24th. Mars will be OOB for nearly six months until May 4th. Planets are OOB when their declination is more than 23 degrees, 27 minutes. When planets are out of bounds their energy is wild, unique, and extraordinary. The planet expresses itself unbounded, or without limits. Mars retrograde and OOB in Gemini these next few months will be fascinating to watch. People may be much more courageous and outspoken than usual.

Sunday is a day for self-compassion and caretaking. The Moon and Sun form a benefic trine, making the going easy. The Moon trines Neptune, unfolding vision and creativity. The focus on this closing day of the weekend is on home and family.
The week begins on an exuberant, playful note as the Moon moves into fire sign Leo. A Sun-Neptune trine gives sensitivity, compassion, and forgiveness. Relationships are boosted early in the week as Venus trines Jupiter, perfecting early Tuesday morning.
Tuesday is a restless day, though with potential for fun. The joyful Leo Moon aligns with Uranus and Saturn, probably making for some diversions and adjustments. Venus moves into Sagittarius, giving enthusiasm for expansive connections and adventures (see Ten Things to Do with Venus in Sagittarius at the end of this blog).
Wednesday’s major aspect is Mercury’s trine to Jupiter, enabling us imagine innumerable opportunities. There are several planetary alignments, both challenging and opportune. The Moon makes benefic aspects to Mars, giving energy, exuberance, and confidence. On the other hand, a Moon-Mercury square may result in some communication challenges or irritations. The Moon moves into Virgo at 5:03 p.m. You will want to refresh your task list to make the most of the next two days with the Moon in Virgo, as it loves to get things completed.
The expansive influence of the Mercury-Jupiter trine continues Thursday. Mercury enters Sagittarius and will zip through this sign the next 19 days. Monitor your sharing more carefully these next three weeks as Mercury in Sagittarius has a tendency to talk too much. However, this energy is friendly, and amazing discoveries and connections can evolve out of expansive conversations. The Virgo Moon signals that it’s time to get your life in order.
Friday is another day fueled by the efficient, industrial energy of the Virgo Moon. The Moon aspects Mars and all of the outer planets, enabling us to see the bigger picture and work toward it, while at the same time inventing some new ways of getting tasks accomplished. At the end of the day we will feel satisfied with our accomplishments and awed by the twists, turns, and activity of the day.
Saturday invites a gracious, peaceful day with the Moon in Libra. However, the day could be somewhat confusing, due to a Mars-Neptune square. These two planets have quite different agendas. Mars is hard and pushy, while Neptune is soft and dreamy. Paint a beautiful picture, write some prolific poetry, or sing your heart out.
Sunday is a golden day of ease. The Sun trines Jupiter, giving optimism and generosity of spirit. Jupiter is slowing to a standstill, readying to turn direct in motion in three days. The Libra Moon forms a grand air trine with Mars and Saturn. Problems seem manageable and solvable.
In contrast to Sunday, the week begins with stormy weather on Monday. After early morning agitation due to a Moon-Pluto square, the Moon moves into the dark, brooding waters of Scorpio. Venus and Mercury conjunct in Sagittarius, inviting us to think about adventure and spreading our wings. We’re also gearing up for engaging in the season’s holiday parties that are on the horizon.
The Week in Short:
Sunday: Go easy and open to creative ideas. Attend to projects at home.
Monday: Exuberant, playful day filled with sensitivity and compassion.
Tuesday: Restless day with diversions, adjustments, and discoveries.
Wednesday: Imagine opportunities! High energy, enthusiastic day.
Thursday: Expansive, conversant day. Check things off your task list and get organized.
Friday: Active day to get a lot accomplished, with innovation and vision.
Saturday: Wandering, confusing day. Do something creative and further your dreams.
Sunday: Golden, optimistic day. Problems seem manageable and solvable.
Monday: Turbulent, stormy emotional day. Imagine spreading your wings.
Ten Things to Do with the Venus in Sagittarius (November 15-December 9, 2022 tropically) 1. Invite someone to dinner from a different culture. 2. Plan your next long-distance trip (or make a wish list). 3. Read a book about a unknown country, culture, or religion. 4. Expand your knowledge of metaphysics. 5. Write! 6. Visit a religious art exhibit. 7. Explore philosophy through a book, book-on-tape, or a lecture. 8. Take a hike or bike ride (Sagittarius rules the thighs).
9. Express appreciation to your in-laws. 10. Venus in Sagittarius is idealistic in love: read some love poems that transport you to the ideal!
Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
