In the Stars November 3-10, 2024 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week
The Sun continues to shine in the fixed water sign Scorpio tropically for two more weeks. Take time to go inward before the Sun moves into Sagittarius and holiday gatherings begin. Scorpio likes exploring hidden mysteries.
Mars makes an explosive opposition to Pluto that perfects Sunday, November 3, two days before the election. While this is a combative aspect, it also can be used to stand up and push forward for our beliefs and causes. A tremendous amount of work can also be accomplished.
The drum rolls for the big U.S. election. The energy around the election is volatile and potentially hostile, but also strongly supportive of people fighting for their beliefs. There are some big planetary shifts in November: Saturn turns direct on November 15. Pluto moves into Aquarius on November 25. Mercury turns retrograde on November 25.

The pot boils over on Sunday, November 3, as Mars and Pluto perfect in exact opposition. This volatile alignment has been in effect for several weeks and will continue through the end of the year. Venus and Jupiter oppose each other in talkative signs Sagittarius and Gemini respectively. The election noise may get louder. Mars moves into dramatic Leo, and the Moon’s square to Saturn may generate more worry. The astrological energies amplify concerns about the future of the United States government and the hot spots in the world.
A battle of opinions charges forth Monday, November 4, as a result of a Moon-Jupiter opposition and other alignments. A Moon-Eris trine offers resilience and strength to stand for what you believe. The drum rolls. Tomorrow is the U.S. election!
Election Day! This is an important election in so many ways and many, if not most of us feel a lot anxiety about the outcome. Mars is opposite Pluto, a hot aspect that was exact only two days ago. Mercury squares Neptune, which may cloud our thinking. There are no other major aspects this day, but the larger context is that Pluto is in its final degrees of Capricorn, getting ready to shift into Aquarius on November 19, which signals a new day dawning.
Thoughts and feelings may run strong on Wednesday, November 6, the day after the election. A Capricorn Moon in benefic sextiles to Saturn and the Sun will ground the day and support strong work. Mercury trines the Moon; people will be eager to speak their truth. A Venus-Eris trine reminds us of our bonds, in spite of conflicts.
Feelings rumble toward discontent on Thursday, November 7, as the stern Capricorn Moon aspects Eris, Uranus, and Neptune, and then conjuncts Pluto. Adding fuel to the fire, the Moon opposes Mars later in the afternoon. The Moon moves into Aquarius at 2:47 p.m. PST which may make us a bit more objective. A minor Venus-Uranus aspect may jangle relationships. There could be some troublesome election aftermath with these aspects. Stay cool and detached and use the strong energy for accomplishment.
Friday, November 8, is a day for friendships and humanitarian concerns. We feel a struggle between the need for intimacy and closeness, and the need for freedom and independence.
Saturday, November 9, begins on an up note as a result of a Moon-Jupiter trine. Expect something unexpected as the Moon squares Uranus. A Venus-Neptune square is the strongest influence of the day, making it difficult to judge matters of love and money clearly. Independence remains a strong theme as the Moon completes its traverse of the sign Aquarius at the end of the day.
Sunday, November 10, is an idealistic day with the Moon in Pisces. Mental clarity is challenging due to a Moon-Mercury square, yet this aspect offers wider vision. The day becomes more grounded and productive as the Moon comes to a conjunction with Saturn. The Pisces Moon on Monday, November 11, Veteran's Day, colors the day soft and dreamy.
The Pisces Moon on Monday, November 11, Veteran’s Day, gives inspiration and compassion. Venus moves into Capricorn at 10:25 a.m. PST until December 7.
The Week in Short:
Saturday: High energy, emotional day. Expect a few surprises, and some turbulence which can be managed with compassion and thoughtful problem solving.

Tuesday: Election Day is hot, and thinking may be cloudy. Tempers may flare. Tremendous drive can get a lot accomplished.

Thursday: Day of discontent. Stay cool and detached and direct your attention toward goals you want to accomplish.
Friday: We feel the tension of the need for intimacy and independence. Gather with friends to celebrate the end of the work week.

Monday: Romantic, visionary day.

Moon Void of Course:
This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
