In the Stars November 5-12, 2023 . . . Shining Light on the Astrology of the Week

Saturn turned direct on Saturday, November 4th, and now stalled projects can move forward. Daylight savings time ends Sunday, November 5, at 2:00 a.m. when we roll clocks back an hour.
Venus moves into passionate Scorpio November 8 through December 4, inviting us into a deeper dive in relationships, and with financial involvements. This is a good time to consider re-balancing your portfolio, pay off debts, or consolidate funds.
Mercury ingresses into Sagittarius on Thursday, November 9 through November 30. We become more gregarious about spreading our beliefs, and more generous with comments. Mercury in Sagittarius is direct, and can be blunt, so be mindful of the need to think and consider before you speak.
The week is colored by a Mars-Uranus opposition that perfects on Saturday, November 11, Veteran's Day. This is a volatile, revolutionary, accident-prone aspect, so move mindfully and carefully. It’s positive potential is creative problem solving and building new structures in your life. The Moon darkens in Scorpio, signaling a time for solitude and deep thought.
The New Moon perfects on Monday, and as it closely aspects Mars and Uranus, it is turbulent and will surely come with some surprises.

Daylight Savings Time ends at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 5. We turn clocks back, gaining an hour. The Leo Moon invites us to play on Sunday. The Moon’s square to Mars may provide just the drive we need to take on a vigorous hike or engage in a game of pickleball. Toward evening the Moon squares Uranus and Mercury, giving restlessness, and sparking debate in conversation. Use the energy to think differently about the week ahead.
It may be hard to get the week started on Monday morning, November 6, due to the Moon being void of course until 11:38 a.m. PST. Tend to routine matters during the void Moon time. As the Moon completes its void period in Leo, it moves into Virgo. During the afternoon and evening we will feel motivated to get our lives in order. The Moon’s opposition to Saturn draws us toward our responsibilities and priorities. A Venus-Pluto trine invites us to consider greater commitment in relationships. A Mercury-Neptune trine takes us to higher ground and draws us toward the big picture where we imagine a brighter future.
Tuesday, November 7, can be an optimistic, productive day buoyed by Jupiter’s trine to the Virgo Moon in the morning. At the end of the day the Scorpio Sun makes a benefic sextile to the Moon. In the glow of these aspects you can get a lot accomplished, so plan to do so.
Venus ingresses into passionate Scorpio on Wednesday, November 8, taking us on a deeper dive into matters of love and money through December 4. The Virgo Moon trines Uranus in the early morning, inviting new approaches to getting many tasks accomplished. The Moon makes aspects also to Neptune, Pluto, and Mercury. Virgo’s efficient, industrious energy is amplified, uplifted, and energized by these connections with other planets. Mercury makes a benefic sextile to Pluto, galvanizing deeper thought on important concerns.
Thursday, November 9th, should be a light, easy day with the Moon in gracious Libra. The Moon trines Venus, its ruling planet, in the early morning hours. This is a day to enjoy life’s elegance, beauty, and pleasures. Late in the evening Mercury moves into Sagittarius for the next few weeks through November 30. In Sagittarius, the messenger planet is gregarious, and waxes philosophical. Mercury fosters direct speech, but there is a propensity toward bluntness and speaking too much.
The Mercury-Saturn square perfects on Friday, November 10, demanding precision and discernment with words. Think before you speak. The Moon is opposite Chiron, prying old wounds from hidden places, and inviting hurts to heal. Controversy may emerge as the night wears on, and we draw closer to the Moon-Eris opposition after midnight.
Saturday’s (November 11) main aspect is a revolutionary Mars-Uranus opposition at 21:08 degrees Scorpio (Mars)-Taurus (Uranus). This is an explosive, accident-prone aspect, so go carefully and thoughtfully. The day begins with a volatile Moon-Mars square, and then the Moon enters the deep, murky waters of Scorpio. Given the tension and strife in the world, we may see an escalation of violence on this tense day. Use the energy positively to solve a posing problem or do some demanding, creative work. Stay safe and be careful. This is not a good day for risk-taking.
A Moon-Jupiter opposition in the early morning (4:08 a.m. PST) Sunday, November 12, colors the day expansive. The rest of the day is quiet, and the Scorpio Moon loves solitude. We are also at the darkest of the Moon, a time draw within before a new cycle begins. The Moon’s position beckons us to take some time to be alone. You might want to research a matter of deep interest.
The New Moon in Scorpio occurs at 1:27 a.m. PST Monday, November 13, at 20:43 degrees. This lunation connects with the Mars-Uranus opposition that perfected two days earlier at 21:08 degrees, only 23 minutes from the New Moon. This is a potent, explosive New Moon that will undoubtedly bring some surprises. The Moon later trines Neptune, offering resolution and healing. New Moons invite goal-setting for the month ahead. Look to where you have Scorpio in your horoscope and focus intention in that area of your life.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
