In the Stars November 7-14, 2022 . . . Total Lunar Eclipse

The Total Lunar Eclipse occurs on November 8th at 16 degrees of Taurus. This eclipse is an extrememly potent day astrologically. We all know the political stakes are at fever pitch. The Saturn-Uranus square will figure prominently in this eclipse as the Sun and Moon will conjunct Uranus, and thus square Saturn. Election Day in the United States is extremely potent and turbulent, and may bring unexpected twists and turns. Those with planets in fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) between 13-19 degrees tropically will be most impacted.

Mars is now retrograde until January 12th, encouraging us to re-work old projects. Continue to read, converse, write, listen, and learn. Mars and Venus are now out of bounds (OOB). Mercury will follow and go OOB on November 23rd, and the Moon will go OOB on November 24th. Mars will be OOB for nearly six months until May 4th. When planets are out of bounds, more than 23 degrees, 26 minutes of declination, their energy is wild, unique, and extraordinary. The planet expresses itself unbounded, or without limits. Mars retrograde and OOB in Gemini these next few months will be fascinating to watch. People may be much more courageous and outspoken than usual. Because Mars is explosive and impulsive, there may be events where extremely volatile energy is unleashed.

Take solitude for yourself and keep things simple these next two weeks with the Sun in Scorpio and in light of the eclipse and OOB planets.

Venus opposes Uranus on Saturday, bringing unexpected twists to relationships, or monetary surprises. The Scorpio Sun conjuncts the South Node. Issues from the past may be at play, or you may re-connect with people you have known from years ago. The Aries Moon is energetic. It can also be hot and explosive. We are close to Tuesday’s intense total lunar eclipse. Saturday and Sunday are days to go slow and mindfully, and to do acts of kindness as an antidote to the tension of this time.

The Moon-Pluto square on Sunday adds fuel to the already hot fire of the time. Again, it is another day to go carefully in the face of the tension and impulsiveness of the day. Venus squares Saturn, challenging relationships. There will be a calming influence from the Moon’s entry into Taurus at 9:15 p.m. PDT. The fall back to regular time from daylight savings time at 2:00 a.m. adds another hour to the day.

Pause and breathe on Monday, the day before tomorrow’s Total Lunar Eclipse. The exalted Taurus Moon draws us toward sensual pleasure: good food, music, smells, and visual beauty. Seek to infuse your life with lovely experiences and culinary delights. This is a grounded day for getting your house in order, a good preparation for the intensity of tomorrow.

Election day Tuesday is here—with a Total Lunar Eclipse. The Taurus Moon is tightly conjunct Uranus, surely heralding numerous surprises. The Sun conjuncts Mercury and Venus in the fierce, demanding sign of Scorpio. All five of these planets square Saturn that is in the progressive sign of Aquarius, forming a tense, fixed T-square. The Moon’s benefic aspects to Neptune and Pluto help ease the tension and provide emotional support. This is an intense day likely to be full of strong feelings and twists and turns. Buckle up!

The Moon loosens yesterday’s tight grip on Wednesday and moves into flexible Gemini, generating curiosity. A Mercury-Saturn square gives discernment and causes us to pause and think objectively.

Thursday benefits from a sweet, compassionate Venus-Jupiter trine and a Moon-Saturn trine. On the other hand, the Sun and Saturn perfect in square aspect, reinforcing limitations and responsibilities. The reality of election news may be sinking in. The Gemini Moon keeps ideas in play and conversation enlivened.

Friday’s Moon-Jupiter square may lead us to overshare. The Moon moves into its home sign of Cancer on Friday afternoon, and ushers in a cozy weekend. Relax with family on Friday evening and pamper yourself.

Compassionate conversations are supported on Saturday by a Mercury-Neptune trine. A Venus-Pluto sextile stirs desires. A Moon-Chiron square may create some friction. Overall, it’s an opportune day for attending to matters at home.

Sunday is a day for self-compassion and caretaking. The Moon and Sun form a benefic trine, making the going relatively easy. The Moon trines Neptune, offering vision and creativity. The focus again on this closing day of the weekend is on home and family.

The week begins on an exuberant, playful note as the Moon moves into fire sign Leo. A Sun-Neptune trine gives sensitivity, compassion, and forgiveness. Relationships are supported early in the week as Venus trines Jupiter, perfecting early Tuesday morning.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
