In the Stars September 19-26, 2021...shining light on the astrology of the week
A Full Moon lights the sky on Monday, September 20, conjunct the planet of love and compassion, Neptune. On Wednesday, September 22 the Sun ingresses into Libra, marking the Fall Equinox. Mercury turns retrograde on Monday, September 27 at 10:10 p.m. PDT. Complete travel arrangements and contracts this week before Mercury begins its backward spin. If you need to get written communication completed and sent out, it is best to do it before the retrograde period.

Sunday’s Pisces Moon calls us to the water for inspiration. Two benefic aspects, Moon-trine-Venus and Moon-sextile-Uranus add love, beauty, and surprise to the day. A walk on the beach or by a lake would be nourishing. The Moon is Full in Pisces (28:14 degrees Pisces-Virgo) on Monday—exact at 4:54 p.m. PDT. The Sabian symbol for this degree (29 Pisces) is “Light breaking into many colors as it passes through a prism.” What a beautiful image of optics and options, inviting us to consider many facets of a situation. The Moon’s close proximity to Neptune gives empathy and compassion. Mars is in close proximity to the Sun, giving speed, energy, and direction. Live into the spectrum of possibilities this day offers. Be ready to sprint toward Tuesday’s tasks, fueled by a fiery Aries Moon that squares its ruling planet Mars. Start the day with vigorous exercise. The morning contains strong energy, but if it is not met with vigor and action, it could manifest as frustration or conflict. Wednesday holds the Fall Equinox, the day the Sun ingresses into Libra, when day and night are exactly equal. Mercury is a key player in the equinox horoscope as it squares Pluto and opposes Eris. Later in the day the Moon conjuncts Eris and lights up this T-square of tense energy in a stronger way. The strong energy of the equinox horoscope is likely to encourage truth-telling, and anger and resentment may pour forth. The constellation of the equinox influences the next three months, If strong feelings emerge, work with it to address things that need to be said, negotiated, or changed. Venus opposes Uranus on Thursday which can be a make-or-break aspect for relationship issues. There could be relationship surprises that emerge. The Moon moves into Taurus early in the day, and while Taurus delights in the pleasantries of life, the comforts may be restricted by a square of Saturn to the Moon. You may feel the squeeze of limitations and constriction. Prepare yourself for a day that might be fraught with contention. We could take some calculated risks on Friday, given that the Taurus Moon aligns with Uranus, early in the day on the West coast, inviting something unusual into the happenings of the day. The focus remains on all things sensual. Enjoy an elegant dinner in the evening in a new setting, or with different food from usual. Saturday is a productive day, supported by a Moon-Pluto trine in earth signs and a Mars-Saturn trine in air signs. As the Moon moves into Gemini in the early evening Pacific Time, we are invited to meet with curious friends for conversation over dinner. The Moon moves into a Grand Trine alignment in air signs on Sunday. A Moon-Ceres conjunction and a Moon-Chiron sextile invite conversations and problem-solving. Mercury stands still before turning retrograde tomorrow. The Gemini Moon encourages connection, communication, and curiosity on Monday. We may want to travel short distances. Mercury turns retrograde for the next three weeks until October 20. Communication can be easily confused during the Mercury retrograde period, so be patient with written or spoken mix-ups. The Week in Short: Sunday: Inspiring day full of love, compassion, and beauty. Monday: Full Moon in Pisces—exact at 4:54 p.m. PDT. Live into the specturm of possibilities this day offers. Tuesday: Fiery day that may fuel frustration or inspiration for strong work. Wednesday: Fall Equinox. Anger, resentment, and truth telling may pour forth. Choose words carefully. Thursday: Relationship challenges and surprises. Restrictions on pleasure and comfort. Friday: Unusual twists and turns in the day. Saturday: Super productive day. Conversant, curious evening. Sunday: Ideas pour forth; this is a day for communication and connection. Monday: Mercury turns retrograde. Busy day with communications. Ten Things to Do with Venus in Scorpio (September 10-October 7) 1. Love deeply. 2. Write a poem to express your deep feelings. 3. Review your investments and research other investment options. 4. Make a commitment to increase your savings and investments. 5. Listen to provocative music that taps into deep feelings. 6. Purge your stuff and give things away. 7. Get a massage. 8. Listen deeply, and say only what is necessary. 9. Read a deep, transformative biography, or a mystery. 10. Take some solitude. Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
