The Sun shines in Leo one more week until August 22, and then the Sun moves into Virgo. Enjoy this last week of exuberance and play, and then it is time to get to work.
This week is sandwiched between the two eclipses, so keep things simple and go easy. A Partial Lunar Eclipse occurs on August 27 at 4:54 degrees of Virgo.
Monday, August 17, is the only day with a long void-of-course period from 4:30 am PDT to 2:46 pm PDT when the Moon goes into Scorpio. When the Moon is void we have a hard time making up our minds about matters.
_________
This Week:
Saturday through Monday afternoon, August 15-17, the Moon is in Libra. The focus is on relationships. We are drawn to social outings. Mercury conjuncts Jupiter, expanding our thoughts and conversations. Ideas pour forth, and solutions for projects and next steps emerge. Also on Saturday, the Moon conjuncts Venus and both trine Pluto, setting up a powerful energy for deepening relationships. On Sunday the Moon opposes Saturn, reminding us of responsibilities and limitations.
On Monday Mars squares Neptune, Mercury trines Saturn, and Venus sextiles Jupiter. These aspects make for a lot of planetary activity. You will want to make plans and ponder problems to be solved, but you may not have the drive to accomplish all you would like to do. In addition, on Monday there is a long void Moon period from 4:30 am PDT through 2:46 pm PDT. As we are indecisive during void Moon periods, this time is better spent gardening, reading, or doing routine tasks not requiring decisions.
Monday afternoon through Wednesday, August 17-19, the Moon is in Scorpio. Feelings run deep when the Moon is in Scorpio, and we are often more sensitive and mistrusting during this time. However, the Scorpio Moon is good for diving deep into a project, researching a problem, or mining information. The Moon squares Jupiter, making us feel overextended and cautious about revealing our feelings.
Thursday through Saturday afternoon, August 20-22, the Moon is in Sagittarius. We are called to outdoor adventure and expansive thoughts. Friday the Moon sextiles Venus, while Venus is opposed by Saturn. The Venus-Saturn opposition reminds us to stay within our budget. In addition, the opposition solidifies commitments.
Saturday afternoon through Monday, August 22-24, the Moon is in Capricorn. The Sun enters Virgo at 7:18 p.m. PDT on Saturday, conjuncts the lion-hearted fixed star Regulus, and conjuncts the South Node, urging us to let go of what is no longer useful in our lives. The Sun trines the emerging Capricorn Moon. It is time to get things done. Sunday and Monday are productive days, grounded with the luminaries in hard-working earth signs.

Moon Void of Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it is difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
