In the Stars June 14-21, 2020...shining light on the astrology of the week: New Moon Solar Eclipse
The second of three eclipses occurs in the coming week on Saturday, June 20th, this one being a New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse at 0 degrees Cancer, the Summer Solstice point. A Lunar Eclipse then occurs on July 5th. The next three weeks are dynamic, and likely eventful, not that we haven't had enough big events lately. Eclipses are power surges; consider how you will use this energy positively.
Mercury and Neptune join the retrograde brigade in the coming week with Mercury turning retrograde on Wednesday, June 17th, and Neptune following on Monday, June 22nd. Mercury and Neptune join Saturn, Pluto, Venus, Jupiter, and asteroid Pallas Athena in backward motion. When Mercury is in retrograde it is a good time to review, re-think, reconsider, and re-construct. Communication is sometimes confused, so be patient with mix-ups. It is difficult to move forward, and probably best not to try to at least until we get through eclipse season this next month and Venus and Mercury at least return to direct motion. Neptune figures prominently, amplifying uncertainty. Go carefully and easy this week. The Moon darkens toward its new cycle joining the Sun in an eclipse at the end of the week. Reflect on your blessings. Light candles for racial equality and humane treatment of all people, and shine your light on the world.

Early Sunday is sweetened with a Venus-Moon sextile. The rest of the day is jagged with edgy aspects. Address challenging aspects with hard work and determination, and yet don't push the river. Be active, but not aggressive.
Monday is the day this week that the Moon aligns with the dynamic stellium of Pluto, Jupiter, Pallas Athena, and Saturn, this day in a rousing square. These aspects coalesce powerful energy, so put it to good use tackling goals with drive and determination.
Tuesday’s tone is practical and grounded. The Taurus Moon squares Saturn, drawing us toward our duties. We tend responsibilities and satisfy our sensual desires at the same time, opening to something extraordinary in the evening as the Moon conjuncts Uranus.
Mercury stations and moves retrograde Wednesday at 9:58 pm PDT for a three-week backward spin. Otherwise this mid-week hump day is relatively easy, all things considered these days. The sensual Taurus Moon makes a soft, opportune sextile with dreamy Neptune and assertive Mars, and the Moon forms benefic trines to the stellium in Capricorn, keeping things flowing.
Thursday the Moon is void of course all morning until 1:50 p.m. PDT when it arrives in Gemini tropically. With Mercury just having gone retrograde and the Moon void, the early part of the day is undefined. Steer clear of things requiring a decision, and allow yourself to flow with routine tasks. In the afternoon Saturn makes a benefic trine to the Gemini Moon, enabling planning and direction toward tasks, especially those involving writing or communication.
Friday, which is Venus’ day (Viernes), holds a sweet Venus-Moon conjunction in Gemini, encouraging kind and caring communication. The Sun conjuncts the North Node, illuminating noteworthy messages. The Moon is dark, the day before the New Moon Solar Eclipse. Go easy and take some time and space for yourself to reflect, even though you have an urge to communicate and connect.
The Sun on Saturday ingresses into Cancer tropically, joined by the New Moon in a Solar Eclipse, officially marking the beginning of summer. This is the second of three eclipses in a row, this one symbolizing new beginnings in the areas of home and family. Cancer symbolizes tradition, history, family lore and photos. Mars-conjunct-Neptune squares into this New Moon eclipse, expanding our vision and motivations. Pause and reflect with the aid of Mercury retrograde, and examine the powerful new starts you want to make in this area of your life and the summer season ahead.
We may feel off-balance on Sunday as the Sun makes a quincunx (150-degree) angle with Saturn, and the intensity of the eclipse lingers. A Chiron-Moon square may make us more sensitive, and feeling our wounds. Reach out with your caring arms to family. Helping others heal can help us heal ourselves. We are drawn to domestic activities. Prepare some of your favorite summer foods.
Neptune stations Monday, turning retrograde for the next five months, making the seventh planet retrograde now. As energies are amplified when planets station to turn direction, the day may feel cloudy and confusing. In addition the sensitive Cancer Moon opposes the demanding planets Pluto and Saturn, amplified by Jupiter, forces with which to reckon. Monday is an emotionally demanding day, though direction may be unclear.

Moon Void-of-Course: This is the time when the Moon makes its last major angular aspect with a planet before it moves into the next zodiacal sign tropically. This void time, when the Moon is not aspecting a planet, but rather floating on its own, is a time when things don’t come together and it’s difficult to make good decisions. Purchases made during void Moons often turn out to be unsatisfactory and not work out. Appointments often don’t come together, and meetings don’t result in progress or sound, lasting decisions. We more easily get lost or meander in trying to get somewhere. The VoC Moon times for the next month are listed below so that you can plan meetings, decisions, and purchases at times when the Moon is not VoC; and use the void times for gardening, reading, and routine task work.
